Vintage 1970s Mod Sorrento Mini Dress Quick-Knit #1323
SIZE:
Small [8-10], Medium [12-14] & Large [16-18]
Directions are for size Small with changes for Medium & Large in brackets.
MEASUREMENTS:
Bust: 32 1/2'” [35 ½”-39”]
MATERIALS:
Columbia-Minerva Nantuk, 4-Ply, 2 oz Skein: 2 Each 2 [3-3] Scarlet [A] & Gold [B]
Columbia-Minerva Spectra, 2 oz Skein: 4 [5-5] Gold with Black [C]
1 Pair Big Boye Knitting Needles Size 35 ¾”
1 Crochet Hook Size K
GAUGE/TENSION:
4 Sts = 3”
BACK:
With 1 strand each of A & B, & 2 strands of C.
Cast on 28 [32-32].
1ST ROW: * K2, P2, rep from * across.
Rep 1st row for 12 ½”.
NEXT ROW: K, dec 4 [6-4] evenly across row = 24 [26-28] rem.
Dress meas 37” [37”-37 ½”] to shoulder, allow 2” for stretch.
To lengthen or shorten make adjustment before armholes.
Start with P row, work in ST ST to 31”, end on WS.
ARMHOLES:
Bind off 3 [3-4] at beg of next 2 rows. Fasten off.
With 4 strands of A, work 4 rows. Fasten off.
With 1 strand each A & B, & 2 strands C, cont in ST ST on 18 [20-20] sts to 6” [6”-6 ½”] above underarm, end on WS.
SHOULDERS:
Bind off 5 at beg of next 2 rows.
Bind off rem sts for neck.
FRONT:
Work same as back.
Sew shoulder & side seams.
With crochet hk & 1 strand each of A, B & C.
Start at underarm, 1 row SC around armholes. Fasten off.
Turn in & sew neck edge.
