I frequently wander the web, looking at all the marvelous creations designed by fellow crafters. The works are so wonderful, I started this blog to share my finds....it also helps me keep my sanity.
In other moments I specialize in the sale of vintage patterns for fashion conscious needle work enthusiasts. Specializing in high fashion for women from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.
I've always been fascinated by the fabulous fashions in the great "Black & White" movies of the 1930s & 1940s. The designers of these clothes are Stars in their own right!
One of my favorites was in the 1930s, the actress Kay Francis was dressed by Orry-Kelly for most of her films. She had many costume changes in each film, with ensembles usually including very sophisticated hats & accessories. She was as noted for her fashion style, just as much as her acting.
It's quite wonderful to see the designs of Adrian, Orry-Kelly, Irene, and Edith Head, just to name a few, translated into today's fabrics & styles. Boleros & shrugs are again in style, as are those lovely old bedjackets are now worn as toppers for jeans & dresses...terrific!
When I don't have a crochet hook in my hand, I'm going through all my patterns for more inspiration. Then I wander the web to see what other crafters are doing.
I hope you enjoy these fashions, as much as I do, & strive to keep vintage fashion alive!
