model fits sizes 8-14 [bust 31 ½” - 36”].
MATERIALS:
Phildar
yarn, 11 balls beige in Licorne quality
Crochet
hook size 1/B

GAUGE:
4”
square = 18 ½ sts & 11 rows in patt st, using size 2/C hook; 1 motif is 14
sts [3”].
STITCHES
YOU WILL USE:
Sc,
dc, 4-dc CLUSTER [cl], pat st - [see patt stitch diagram] Leaving last lp of each st on hook, work 1 dc
in each of 4 sts, yo & draw thru all 5 lps on hook, yo & draw thru lp
on hook.
SCALLOPS:
With
smaller hook, across an sc base work thus:
ch 1 to turn, * sk 2 sts, 8 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in next st,
rep from * across.
BIND
OFF:
At
beg of row, sl st across req number of sts; at end of row, leave req number of
sts unworked.
RIGHT
HALF FRONT:
With
larger hook ch 57.
Work
even in patt st following diagram: 4
motifs in all.
When
piece meas 10 ½” from beg, at arm edge on left side bind off on each row ½ motif
once.
At
neck edge on right side shape neck: bind
off 1 motif, then, on each row, bind off ¼ motif 4 times.
Shape
shoulder same as for Back.
Comp
Left Half Front in same way, but reverse all shapings.
BACK:
With
larger hook ch 85.
Work
even in patt st: 6 motifs in all.
When
piece meas 10 ½” from beg, to shape armholes bind off ½ motif at each
edge: 5 motifs rem.
To
shape neck, bind off 2 motifs in center [= center motif & ½ motif on each
side of center motif], cont on one side only, on next row & at each side of
neck edge bind off ½ motif [= 3 motifs in all for neck opening].
At
the same time, to shape shoulders bind off at each edge & on every row ½
motif twice.
SLEEVES:
With
larger hook ch 43.
Work
even in patt st [= 3 motifs] for 6 rows, then inc every 4 rows 1 dc 6 times
& every other row 1 dc 8 times.
Re-form
motifs as you progress with ins: 5 motifs in all.
When
piece meas 17 ¾” from beg, to shape cap bind off at each ½ motif, then, at each
edge & on every other row, ¼ motif 6 times, fasten off - 1 motif rem.
Comp
2nd sleeve in same way.
FINISHING:
Sew
side, shoulder & sleeve seams.
Sew
sleeves in place.
With
smaller hook across fronts & neck opening work 1 row sc & then 1 row
scallops.
Sew
on buttons in groups of two, scallops on opposite side serve as buttonholes.
