Vintage Petite Half Moon Tote #234

Quick & easy to create, this sophisticated tote will become a season-spanning favorite!

MATERIALS: 
1 large spool Corde
OR
[Interchangeable with 3 gr Soutache, 4 gr Ribbonette, or 7 oz Straw]
#5 Bone Crochet Hook                  
Lining Material
2 Large Plastic Ring Handles

TOTE:
1ST ROW:  Ch 90.  1 Sc in 2nd st from hook 1 sc in next st.  * 3 Sc in next st.  1 Sc in each of next 2 sts.  Sk 1.  1 Sc in next 2 sts rep from * end 3 sc in one st.  Work 1 sc in next 2 sts.

2ND ROW:  Ch 1, turn, work entire bag using back half of st, sk first sc of last row, 1 sc in 2nd sc, 1 sc in next * 3 in one st, 1 sc in next 2 sts sk 2, 1 sc in next 2 sts, rep from * to end of row.

3RD & 4TH ROW:  Rep row 2.

5TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc * 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 6 sc, rep from * end with 1 sc of end 3 sc.

6TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, sk first sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, * 3 sc in next sc, work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, rep from * to end, sk next sc, sc in last st.

7TH, 8TH, 9TH & 10TH ROWS:  Rep row 6.

11TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of 4 sc * 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, rep from *.

12TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, sk first sc, 1 sc in each of 4 sc, * 3 in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 4, sk next 2 st.  Work 1 sc in each of next 4, rep from *.

13TH & 14TH ROWS:  Same as row 12.

15TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of next 5 * 3 sc in next, 1 sc in each of 10, rep from *.

16TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, sk 1, sc in each next 5 * 3 in next st, 1 sc in next 5, sk 2, 1 sc in next 5, rep from *.

17TH & 18TH ROWS:  Same as row 16.

19TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of 6 sc * 3 in next, 1 sc in next 12 st, rep from *.

20TH ROW:  Work  1 sc in each of next 6 * 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 6 sc, rep from *.

21ST & 22ND ROWS:  Same as row 20.

23RD ROW:  Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc of last row.

24TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, sk first sc of last row * 1 sc in next 13 sc, sk next 2, rep from *, end with 1 sc in each of 12, sk 1, work 1 sc in last st.

25TH ROW:  Same as row 23.

26TH ROW:  Ch 1, sk 1 st * 1 sc in each of 11, sk next 2, rep from * end 10, sk 1, 1 sc in last st.

27TH ROW:  Ch 1, turn, sk first sc, 1 sc in each of 8 * ch 1, sk next 4, 1 sc in next 7, rep from * end 1 sc in next 7, sk 1, 1 sc in last st.

28TH ROW:  Join thread with sc in first foundation st, ch 1, sk next 5, 1 sc in next st, rep from * break off.

Make other piece same, picking up 1 sc in back st & 1 sc in front st with sc.

Line & attach handles.

MISS JULIA’S PURSE LINING NOTES:
Make paper patt for each crocheted piece before joinings & lay aside to be used later.

Cut lining according to paper patts & sew tog. 

Shirr lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.

Insert finished lining in bag. 

Sew in zipper, [if a zipper is to be used].

Note:  Cardboard or lightweight plastic may be inserted between bag & lining to give shape of bag extra support.
