Vintage Stylish Clutch Handbag #233


Quick & easy to create, this delightful purse will become a season-spanning favorite!

MATERIALS: 
7 - 75 yd spools  Corde,
or Interchangeable with 4 gr Ribbonette, 3 gr Soutache, or 6 oz Straw
#5 Bone Crochet Hook
Lining Material
Zipper

ABBREVIATIONS:
BEG                =  Begin                                 
BET                =  Between
CH                  =  Chain                                 
CONT             =  Continue
DC                  =  Double Crochet               
DEC               =  Decrease
HDC               =  Half Double Crochet       
INC                 =  Increase
MEAS             =  Measure                            
REM               =  Remain
REP                =  Repeat                               
RND               =  Round
SK                   =  Skip                                    
SL                   =  Slip
ST                   =  Stitch                                  
TOG                =  Together
TR                   =  Triple Crochet                   
YO                  =  Yarn Over

BAG:
Start from center, ch 7“, * trc & sc in one st, sk 1 st, rep from * to end of row, ch 2, turn.

Rep this row for 2 ½“.

Work 1 row sc in every st taking back loop only. 

* Work 1 sc in each of 1st 2 sts, 3 sc in next st, rep from * across row, end with 2 sc, ch 1 turn.

Work st for st for 4 ½”.

Work other side to correspond.

Work 1 row of sc around entire bag.

Work 3 rows of popcorn st around fullness of bag & work sc on center of popcorn square. 

Work 1 row sc in every st.

Work other side to correspond.

GUSSET: 
Ch 8 sts. 

Work in sc for 29”. 

Attach Gusset to Bag.

FINISHING: 
Make paper patt for each crocheted piece.

Cut lining according to paper patts & sew tog. 

Shirr lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.

Insert finished lining in bag.

Insert Zipper.

Note: 
Cardboard or lightweight plastic may be inserted between bag & lining to give shape of bag extra support.
