HAT
[FOUNDATION]:
Ch
20 & join with sl st to form ring.
1ST
ROW: Ch 3, work 2 dc in each st, join
with sl st to top of ch 3.
3RD
ROW: Ch 4, sk 1 dc, work 1 dc in next
dc, * ch 2, sk 1 dc & work 1 dc in next dc.
Rep from * around row, end with ch 2 & join with sl st to 3rd
ch of starting ch.
4TH
ROW: Ch 3, * 2 dc under ch 2 sp, 1 dc in
dc of prev row. Rep from * around row,
join with sl st to top of ch 3.
5TH
ROW: Ch 3, * 1 dc in each dc, rep from *
around row, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Rep
3rd, 4th, & 5th rows until work meas 14”
in diameter. Fasten off.
With
same material & sewing needle, sew running st around outer edge & pull
tog tightly. Fasten off.
FLOWER:
Ch
6, & join with sl st to form ring.
1ST
ROW: Ch 3, 4 dc in ring, * 1 sc in ring,
5 dc in ring, rep from * 2 more times, ending with sc [4 shells].
2ND
ROW: Ch 5, sc in back of center dc of
shell on prev row, ch 5, sc in back of sc of prev row, rep from beg around
row. [8 scallops].
3RD
ROW: Ch 3, 6 dc & 1 sc in 1st
sp, * 1 sc, 7 dc, & 1 sc in next lp, rep from * around row. [8 petals].
BACK
TAB:

Work
3 dc in 4th st from hk, 1 dc in each of next 15 sts, 3 dc in next
st.
Now
working on other side of chain; 3 dc in 1st st, 1 dc in each of next
18 ch, work 3 dc in last ch.
Cont
working all around, always working 3 dc at each 4 corners as on 1st
row, making sure that work lies completely flat until there are 3 rows on each
side of center chain.
FINISHING:
Assemble
by sewing Flower & Back Tab to Foundation.
