VEST:
Start
at lower edge, ch 119.
1ST
ROW: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook
& in each ch across [117 hdc]. Ch 2,
turn.
2ND
ROW: * Hdc in next hdc, dc around bar of
next hdc, rep from * across, end with hdc.
Ch 2, turn.
3RD
ROW: * Hdc in next hdc, hdc in next dc,
rep from * across, end with hdc in last hdc.
Ch 2, turn.
Rep
2nd & 3rd rows alternately until 7 rows in all have
been made.
At
end of 7th row, ch 7, turn.
8TH
ROW: * Yo hook 4 times, draw up loop in
next hdc, [yo, draw thru 2 loops] twice; yo twice, sk 1 hdc, draw up loop in
next hdc, [yo, draw thru 2 loops] 6 times; ch 1, tr in center of cross [cross
st made], ch 1, sk 1 hdc, rep from * across, end with complete cross st in next
to last hdc; dtr in last hdc. Ch 2,
turn.
9TH
ROW: Hdc in dtr, hdc in each st across,
hdc in top st of turning ch [117 hdc].
Ch 2, turn.
Work
straight in patt--2nd thru 9th
rows make up patt--until 11 rows of cross st are complete.
Work
4 rows above last cross st row.
SHAPE
NECK:
Work
in patt over next 45 sts. Ch 2, turn.
Working
over this set of sts only &, keeping patt same, dec 1 st at neck edge each
row until 36 sts rem--to dec 1 st, work off 2 sts as 1 st.
Work
until 2 cross st rows are complete above 1st row of neck shaping.
SHAPE
SHOULDER:
Dec
12 sts at side edge 3 times--to dec 12 sts at beg of row, sl st across 13 sts,
ch 2; to dec 12 sts at end of row, work to last 12 sts, turn--sk 27 sts at base
of piece just made.
Attach
thread in next st & work other side to correspond.
TIE: [MAKE 2]:
Start
at lower edge, ch 129.
Work
as for vest until 4 rows are complete.
Do not break off.
Make
rnd of sc closely around. Break off.
Cut
back from material making 7” opening at center back.
Sew
Ties around neck edge, starting at center back opening.
Make
ch-7 buttonloop at center back on right side of Tie.
Tie
ends in bow.
Cut
ribbon into 4 equal pieces & sew piece to each side at waist.
Sew
on button.
