Baby Belle Sweater & Bonnet Set #B194

MATERIALS:
Cynthia Bay-Bee Yarn
or
Cynthia Shetland Floss, 3 oz Pink & 1 oz White
Bone Crochet Hook #3 or #4
2 yds Pink Satin Ribbon ¼” Wide

GAUGE:
5 cluster (CL) sts = 1”

JACKET:
Beg at neck with White, ch 68, turn.

1ST ROW: Draw last st of ch up to form lp, height of DC, yo hk, insert hk in 1st st & draw yarn thru, yo, insert hk in same st & draw yarn thru, yo & draw thru 4 lp, yo & draw thru rem 2 lp, * yo, insert hk in next st, draw yarn thru, yo, insert hk in same st, draw yarn thru, yo & draw thru 4 lp, yo & draw thru rem 2 lp, rep from * 10 times (12 clusters in FRONT), ch 2, work 1 CL in each of next 10 sts (SLEEVE), ch 2, work 1 CL in each of next 12 sts, ch 2, 1 CL in each of next 12 sts (BACK), ch 2, 1 CL in each of next 10 sts (SLEEVE), ch 2, 1 CL in each of last 12 sts (FRONT), ch 1, turn, draw last ch up height of DC.

2ND ROW: CL in top of each of 1st 12 CLs, 1 CL in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 1 more CL in same sp, 1 CL in each of next 10 CLs, 1 CL in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 1 more CL in same sp, 1 CL in each of next 12 CLs, 1 CL in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 1 CL in each of next 12 CLs, 1 CL in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 1 CL in same sp, 1 CL in each of next 10 CLs, 1 CL in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 1 CL in same sp, 1 CL in each of last 12 CLs, turn.

Cont inc 1 CL in each FRONT, 2 CLs in each SLEEVE & 4 CLs in BACK until there are 4 rows in all worked with White.

Then tie in Pink & cont to inc in same way for 4 more rows.

9TH ROW: Work to 1st inc sp, work 1 CL in sp, sk 24 SLEEVE CLs, work 1 CL in next sp, cont across BACK in same way (work 2 CLs in sp at 

CENTER BACK), work 1 CL in next sp, sk SLEEVE CLs, work 1 CL in next sp & cont across FRONT.

Cont work for 9 more rows, inc in center of back only. Fasten off.

SLEEVES:
Join yarn at underarm & work 7 rows of CLs, joining each row with sl st in 1st CL.

With White, work 3 rows of SC around lower edge of SLEEVE & around 

NECK edge.
SHELL EDGE:
With White, work row of shells (ch 3, work 4 DC in same st, sk 2 or 3 sts on edge, sl st in next st) around entire jacket & cuffs, spacing evenly to lay flat.

With Pink, cro­chet cord & run thru SC at neck edge; fin­ish with White tassel at each end.

BONNET:
With Pink, ch 5, join with sl st in 1st st. 

1ST RND: Ch 3, 19 DC in ring, join with sl st in 3rd st of ch 3. 

2ND RND: Ch 4, 1 DC in each DC, with ch 1 bet DCs, join with sl st in 3rd st of ch 4. 

3RD RND: 1 CL in each DC, with ch 1 bet CLs, join with sl st in tip of 1st CL. 

4TH & 5TH RNDS: 1 SC in each st, work thru back thread only. 

6TH RND: 1 CL in each st, join in tip of 1st CL. 

7TH RND: * Draw lp on hk out ½”, draw yarn thru, make ch st, insert hk bet lp & single strand of this ch & work SC, rep from * again, sk 1 CL, 1 SC in next CL (knot st), rep from star around, work half knot st in last CL, join with sl st in 1st knot st. 

8TH & 9TH RNDS: * 1 SC over double lp at right of 1st knot, 1 SC over double lp at left of knot, ch 2, rep from * around. 

10TH RND: Work knot st in each SC, turn when within 3” of end of rnd.

Work 2 rows SC, work back & forth.

Cont work 1 row knot st & 2 rows SC until there are 4 rows of knot st on front of bonnet.

Work 2 rows SC around entire bonnet edge.

RUFFLE:
With White, work 2 rows knot st into each SC of 18th row.

With Pink, work 1 SC in each knot st, with ch 2 bet SCs. Fasten off.

Make 2 rosettes of satin ribbon, leaving 12” for ties & attach to each side of bonnet.
