A chartreuse starfish on a long shield, jumbo eyelets that circle yoke, & an unusual stitch of open shells for the bronze-green body…elements that combine to create a stunning style, truly individual
SIZE:
Small [8-10], & Medium [12-14]
Directions are for Small with changes for Medium in brackets.
MEASUREMENTS:
Body Bust = 31 ½”-32 ½” [34”-36”]
Finished Bust = 36” ]39”]
MATERIALS:
Knitting Worsted, 2 oz Skeins:
6 [8] Bronze Gold [G]; 2 oz each of Chartreuse [C] & Rust [R]
1 Crochet Hook #8/I [or UK #5]
GAUGE/TENSION:
Gauge is not given; be sure to follow meas in directions.
SWEATER:
CENTER MOTIF:
Beg at center with R, CH 6, join with sl st into ring.
1ST RND: CH 3, 15 DC in ring, join with sl st in top of CH 3.
2ND RND: CH 6, sk 1st DC, DC in next DC, * CH 3, sk next DC, DC in next DC, rep from * 5 times, CH 3, sl st in 3rd CH of CH 6 = 8 sps. Fasten off.
3 RND: With C, make lp on hk, 2 SC in any CH-3 sp, * 4 SC in next CH-3 sp, rep from * 6 times, 2 SC in next sp, join with sl st in 1st SC = 32 SC.

10TH RND: Join C in sl st, CH 2, sk next 2 G SC, sl st in next SC, 2 DC in R sl st, work from * on 9th rnd. Fasten off. Turn.
11TH RND: With G, rep 10th rnd, work 1st 2 DC in C sl st.
12TH & 13TH RNDS: With R, rep 10th rnd.
FORM Neck:
1ST RND: With RS of motif facing, join C in 2nd G SC in CH-3 sp at upper left side of motif, CH 80 to meas 22”; WITHOUT twisting CH, sl st in 2nd G SC in CH-3 sp at upper right of motif forming circle, sl st in next G SC, turn; from RS, SC in each CH around, sl st in next G SC on left side [DO NOT twist row]. Fasten off.
2ND RND: Join G in sl st just made, CH 2, sk next 2 G SC, sl st in next G SC, turn to WS; DC in front lp of each C DC around neck, end sk 2 G SC on side of motif, sl st in next G SC. Fasten off. Turn to RS.
