Instructions
are for a 12” length from neck to tail.
Changes for 14”, 16” & 18” length from neck to tail are given in
brackets.
MATERIALS:
5 [5, 6, 6] oz of Patons Moorland Double Knitting in color A & 5 [5, 6, 6]
oz in color B
1 Pair #11 Knitting Needles

MEASUREMENTS:
Length
from neck to tail: 12” [14“, 16“, 18”]
Width: 14 ½” [15”, 15 ½”, 16”]
TENSION: 15 sts & 19 rows = 2”
STITCH: Entire coat is in st st.
COAT: Beg at left front.

A cast on 24.

LINING:
With
B follow instructions for coat, belt & collar, working buttonholes in right
front of coat.
FINISHING:
Using
matching wool, work 1 row of firm dc round separate pieces of coat, lining,
& belt, work 3 dc into each corner.
Buttonhole-stitch
each buttonhole with matching wool.
Baste
lining to coat, p sides tog.
Slip-stitch
neck edges, drawing neck in to 10 ½” [10 ½”, 11”, 11”].
JOIN
COAT & LINING.
1st
row: With A side towards you * B work 1
row of dc round sides & fronts, put hook thru edging of coat &
lining. Fasten off B, join A.
2nd
row. Work dc into front loops of A sts, 1
ch, turn.
3rd
row: Work dc into both loops of 2nd
row. Fasten off.
Fold
last 2 rows of dc to B side & slip-stitch.
Baste
collar pieces p sides tog & join in same way, leave neck edges free.
Join
belt pieces in same way.
Sew
open edges of collar to neck matching colors, leave ½” at center-fronts for
overlap.
Sew
on belt in desired position.
Press.
Sew
on buttons.
ENJOY!
