1950s Vogue Casual Horizontal Ribbed Pullover #362
 SIZES: 
Directions are for size 12.  
Changes for sizes 14 & 16 are in brackets.


MATERIALS:  
Spinnerin Shrink-Resistant    Touchdown, 8 [9, 10] 1 oz pull skeins.

1 Pair each #2 & #4 Knitting Needles

GAUGE:  
6 ½” sts = 1”;     
10 rows = 1”


PATTERN [UNEVEN # OF STS]:  1ST ROW:  K.

2ND ROW:  P.

3RD, 4TH & 5TH ROWS:  K.  


Rep rows 1, 2, & 1.

6TH - 10TH ROWS:  K 1, * p 1, k 1; rep from * across.  

Rep these 10 rows for patt.


BACK:  
With 32 needles, cast on 104 [108, 112] sts.  


Work in k 2, p 2 ribbing for 3”, inc 3 [5, 7] sts evenly spaced across last row. 

Change to #4 needles & patt. 

Work even until 11 ½” [12”, 12 ½”] from beg or desired length to underarm.

SHAPE ARMHOLES:  
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 8 rows. 


Dec 1 st each end every other row 3 [4, 5] times:  77 [81, 85] sts. 

Work even until armholes are 8 ½” [9”, 9 ½”], end with row 4.

SHAPE SHOULDERS:  
Bind off 5 [6, 7] sts at beg of next 2 rows; then 6 sts at beg of next 4 rows:  43 [45, 47] sts.


NECK FACING:  
Rep rows 6 thru 10 once more.  Bind off loosely.


FRONT:  
Work as for Back.


SLEEVES:  
With #2 needles, cast on 56 [60, 64] sts. 


Work in k 2, p 2 ribbing for 3”, inc 1 st at end of row. 

Change to #4 needles & patt. 

Inc 1 st each end every 10th row 10 times:  77 [81, 85] sts; then every 4th row 9 [10, 11] times; then every other row 14 [15, 16] times:  123 [131, 139] sts. 

Mark each edge for underarm. 

Work even for 2 ¼” [ 2 ½”, 2 ¾”] more.  Bind off.

FINISHING: 
Sew shoulder seams. 

Sew in sleeves, matching underarms. 

Sew underarm & sleeve seams. 

Turn under neck facing & sew in place on wrong side.
