MATERIALS:
1 – 1 lb Mary Lamb Guimp
OR any of the following: 1 lb Corde, 3 gr Soutache, 2 spools 400 yd Plastic Corde
1 – 1 lb Mary Lamb Guimp
OR any of the following: 1 lb Corde, 3 gr Soutache, 2 spools 400 yd Plastic Corde
BAG:
Ch 6”.
1ST
ROW: Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from
hk & in each ch st.
2ND
ROW: Work 1 sc in each sc of prev row,
using back lp of st throughout entire bag.
Cont
in this manner throughout entire bag, inc one st either end every 2nd
row, until bag meas 8”.
Work
8 rows even.
GUSSET:
Ch 2.
Work
in sc, same as bag, inc 1 st both ends every row, until there are 10 sts.
Work
even 6”.
Then
dec 1 st both ends every row until 2 sts rem.
HANDLES:
Ch 10 sts.
Work
in sc same as bag for 15”.
Make
2 pieces.
FINISHING:
Attach gusset as shown in photo, joining to bag with sc, then join sides of bag in same manner.

MISS JULIA’S PURSE
LINING NOTES:
Make
paper patt for each crocheted piece before joinings & lay aside to be used
later.
Cut
lining according to paper patts & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper [if desired].
Note:
Cardboard or lightweight plastic may be inserted
between bag & lining to give shape of bag extra support.
