A skillful needlewoman
will swiftly crochet this delightful hat…Delightful, addition to
the discerning woman‘s wardrobe!
Materials:

tubes Raphael Gimp
#4
Steel Crochet Hook
1
½ yds 1” Grosgrain Ribbon
SIZE:
22
½”
STITCH:
Use
Single Crochet [sc] thru out, picking up back loop only.
It is best to crochet fairly tight to obtain firmness
& body.
CROWN:
Ch
13.
1ST
ROW: Make 2 sc in 2nd ch from
hk, 1 sc in each of next 10 ch, 2 sc in last ch.
Work
on other side making 1 sc in each ch [26 sc].
2ND
TO 19TH ROWS: Make 1 sc in
each st of prev row with 2 incs at each end & side [8 incs in each row].
20TH
TO 32ND ROW: Make 1 sc in
each st of prev row.
BRIM:
Make
sl st in next st, turn.
1ST
TO 14TH ROWS: Make 1 sc in
each st of prev row with 7 incs in each row, evenly spaced. [Do not inc over prev incs.]
15TH
ROW: Make sl st in each st of prev row
picking up back lp only. End off.
Attach
gimp to 19th row of Crown & make 1 row of sl sts as follows:
Insert
hk in 19th row thru 20th row, pull thru & finish off
sl st.
BAND:
Ch
111.
1ST
ROW: Make 1 sc in 2nd ch from
hk & in each ch across, ch 2, turn.
2ND
TO 6TH ROWS: Sk 1st
st, make 1 sc in each st across, sk last st, ch 2, turn. End off.
FINISHING:
Sew
band in place.
Tack
ribbon around crown.
Tack
up brim in center of back & on each side.
Make
2 bows & tack as shown in photo.
