This
flattering hat uses Chenille Marcasite for greater chic. The material has a jet-like shimmering aspect
that is most effective.

HAT:
CROWN:
Ch 3, join with sl st, work 6 sc in ring, then 2 sc in each st, taking up back thread only of sts below unless otherwise mentioned, until there are 24 sts in rnd.

* 1 sc in each of 4 sts, 2 sc in next st [an inc]; rep from * until there are

Then
inc in every 7th st until there are 84 sts around.

1 sc in each st until hat meas 6 ½” from centre to edge.

SHORT ROW: Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in each
of 38 sts, taking up front thread of
sts.
2ND
SHORT ROW: Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in each
of 34 sts, taking up back thread of
sts in row below.
3RD
SHORT ROW: Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in front thread of each of 30 sts.
FINAL
RND: Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in back thread of each st in 3rd
short row.
Then
1 sc in each st left in 2nd row.
Cont
with 1 sc in back thread of each of

hat on, drape & sew fold at top of crown, as shown in photo.
