1930s Quick & Easy Baby
Sweater #B199
MATERIAL:
Woolco Germantown Zephyr, 4 skeins of white & 1 skein of color
Woolco Hook #4
YOKE:
With color ch 77.
1ST ROW: Make 1 DC in 4th st of ch, *ch 1, sk 1 st, 1 DC
in next st, * rep to end of row, turn, ch 1.
2ND ROW: 1 SC in each of 1st 18 sts, 3 SC in
19th st. 1 in each of next 38, 3 in next st, 1 st in each of next 18
sts.
3RD ROW: 1 SC in 1st 2 sts, *1 DC in ch bet DCs
of 1st row, sk 1, 1 SC in each of next 3 SCs*. Rep bet stars to end
of row. Turn, ch 1.
4TH ROW: With white, *1 SC in each of 1st 18 sts,
make 3 in next, 1 in each of next 3 sts, 3 in next, * 1 in each of next 38 sts.
Reverse bet stars.
5TH ROW: Same as 3rd row.
Rep 4th
& 5th rows in color, then in white, until there are 3 pink &
2 white stripes.
SKIRT:
1ST ROW: With
white make 1 DC & 1 ch in each st of yoke.
2ND ROW: 1 DC with 1 ch bet in each of 1st 18 sts,
ch 14, sk 18 sts, join with DC in next sp, cont across back.
Reverse for other armhole & front.
3RD ROW: 1 DC, ch 1 in each sp & in every other st of
ch for underarm.
NEXT
ROWS: Make 10 more rows of 1 DC, ch 1 in every sp.
SLEEVES:
Fasten yarn in 23rd
sp from front, make DC with 1 ch bet in each of next 16 sps.
Fasten with SC to back. Ch 1, turn, make 3 more rows.
Then work around taking st in every sp under arm.
Work 6 rows even.
Make other sleeve in same way.
Border
for jacket & sleeves is made of 6 rows, same as yoke, alt of color &
white.
Finish with P of 1 SC, 3 ch, 1 SC in every other st around jacket &
sleeves.
