MATERIALS:
Patons Beehive Baby Wool - 2 Balls
or
Patons B
aby Wool with Nylon - 2 Balls
1 Pair each Knitting Needles, UK #11/3mm/US #2 & UK #12/2.75mm/US #2
6 Small Buttons

SIZE:
Underarm - 20”
Length from top of shoulder - 10½”
Length of sleeve seam – 7”

GAUGE/TENSION:
8 ½ sts = 1” width, meas over stocking stitch.

PATTERN:
LEFT FRONT:
Use #12 Needles, cast on 50 sts.

1ST ROW: * K1, P1, rep. from * to last 2 sts, K2.

NEXT ROWS: Rep. 1st row 23 times, dec once at end of last row.

Use #11 Needles, cont as follows:
** 1ST ROW: K3, * P2, K2, rep from * to last 10 sts, P2, (K1, P1) 3 times, K2.

2ND ROW: (K1, P1) 4 times, K2, * P2, K2, rep from * to last 3 sts, P2, K1.

3RD ROW: K3, * P2, slip 1, K1, psso, yo, P2, K2, rep. from * to last 14 sts, P2, sl 1, K1, psso, yo, P2, (K1, P1) 3 times, K2.

4TH ROW: Rep 2nd row.

5TH ROW: Rep 1st row.

6TH ROW: Rep 2nd row.

7TH ROW: K3, * P2, yo, K2tog, P2, K2, rep from * to last 14 sts, P2, yo, K2tog, P2, (K1, P1) 3 times, K2.

8TH ROW: Rep 2nd row.**

NEXT ROWS: Rep from ** to ** 5 times.

Keep continuity of patt, dec. once at end of needle (inside border of 8 sts) in next & following 4th row.

NEXT ROWS: Work 3 rows in patt without shaping.

NEXT ROW: Cast off 4 sts, work to last 10 sts, K2tog, (K1, P1) 3 times, K2.

NEXT ROWS: Dec once at beg of needle in every alt row 3 times, AT SAME TIME dec once at front edge (inside border) in 4th row = 38 sts.

NEXT ROWS: Cont dec inside border sts in 2nd & every following 4th row until 28 sts rem.

SHAPE SHOULDER:
1ST ROW: Work to last 10 sts, turn.

2ND & 4TH ROWS: Work to end of row.

3RD ROW: Work to last 20 sts, turn.

5TH ROW: Work to end of row.

6TH ROW: Cast off 20 sts, (P1, K1) 3 times, K2.

NEXT ROWS: Work 19 rows in rib on rem 8 sts. Cast off.

RIGHT FRONT:
Use #12 Needles, cast on 50 sts.

1ST ROW: K2, * P1, K1, rep. from * to end of row.
Work to corres with Left Front, work border & shapings at opposite ends of needle, & make buttonhole in 3rd & 4th rows from start, then every following 9th & 10th rows twice, then every following 15th & 16th rows 3 times. (6 buttonholes.)

BUTTONHOLE:
1ST ROW: K2, P1, K1, cast off 2 sts, work to end of row.

2ND ROW: Work to last 4 sts, cast on 2 sts, (P1, K1) twice.

BACK:
Use #12 Needles, cast on 92 sts.

1ST ROW: K2 * P1, K1, rep. from * to end of row.

NEXT ROWS: Rep. 1st row 23 times.

Use #11 Needles, cont as follows:
** 1ST ROW: K3 * P2, K2, rep. from * to last st, K1.

2ND ROW: K1, P2 * K2, P2, rep. from * to last st, K1.

3RD ROW: K1 * K2, P2, slip 1, K1, psso, yo, P2, rep. from * to last 3 sts, K3.

4TH ROW: Rep 2nd row.

5TH ROW: Rep 1st row.

6TH ROW: Rep 2nd row.

7TH ROW: K3, * P2, yo, K2tog, P2, K2, rep. from * to last st, K1.

8TH ROW: Rep 2nd row. **

NEXT ROWS: Rep. from ** to ** 6 times.

NEXT ROWS: Keep continuity of patt, cast off 4 sts, at beg. of next 2 rows, then dec once at each end of needle in next & every alt row until 78 sts rem.

NEXT ROWS: Cont without shaping until armholes meas same as Front armholes.

SHAPE SHOULDERS:
1ST & 2ND ROWS: Work to last 10 sts, turn.

3RD & 4TH ROWS: Work to last 20 sts, turn.

5TH ROW: Work to end of row. Cast off.

SLEEVES:
Use #12 Needles, cast on 52 sts.

1ST ROW: K2, * P1, K1, rep. from * to end of row.

NEXT ROWS: Rep 1st row 15 times.

Use #11 Needles, work as given from ** to ** for Back once.

NEXT ROWS: Keep continuity of patt, inc once at each end of needle in next & every following 8th row until there are 66 sts on needle (work extra sts in K2, P2, rib).

NEXT ROWS: Cont in patt without shaping until work meas 7” from start.

NEXT ROWS: Keep continuity of patt, cast off 2 sts at beg of every row until 34 sts rem. Cast off.

Work another Sleeve in same manner.

FINISHING:
With slightly damp cloth & warm iron, press lightly.

Use flat seam, sew up side, shoulder & sleeve seams.

Sew in sleeves, & place seams to side seams.

Join tog bands from fronts & sew to back of neck.

Sew on buttons to corres with buttonholes.

Press all seams.
