NOTE:
This hat is made up of 5 sections & headband.

Pieces are afterwards crocheted tog & draped to suit.
Each section should meas about 4¼” across bottom & about 5¼”
deep.

1ST ROW: 1 hdc in 4th ch from hk, 1 hdc in each st of foundation ch. Ch 2,
turn.

row. Ch 2, turn.
3RD ROW: Same as 2nd row. Ch 4, turn.
4TH ROW: 1 sc in 3rd st of prev row, * ch 3, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in next, & rep
from * to end of row (11 lps in all). Ch 2, turn.
5TH ROW: * 2 hdc in ch-3 lp, 1 hdc in sc, & rep from * to end of row.
Ch 2, turn.
6TH TO 13TH ROWS INCL: Rep from ** (beg of 2nd row) twice.
14TH ROW: Dec 2 sts (1 at beg & 1 at end of each row) by working off 2
sts tog. Ch 2, turn.
15TH TO 17TH ROWS INCL: No decs. 1 hdc in each st of prev row. Ch 2, turn.
18TH TO 20TH ROWS INCL: Same as 14th row.
21ST TO 26TH ROWS INCL: Dec 3 sts (1 at beg by working off 2 sts tog, & 2 at end of
row by working off last 3 sts tog).
There will be 6 sts left in last row.
HEADBAND:
Ch 20, turn.

1ST ROW: 1 hdc in 4th ch from hk, 1 hdc in each st of foundation ch. Ch 2,
turn.
2ND & NEXT ROWS: 1 hdc in each st of prev row, till band meas desired head size.
Join band tog with sc.
Join sections tog by sc over 2 edges at a time.
These ridges formed will be on outside of hat.
Place band on head & drape to suit.
Pinch extended portion of sections tog.
Pin to fit head size.
Sew these petal trimmings as formed.
