Vintage 1916 Lace Bolero Jacket #547

Quick & easy to crochet this charming Bolero jacket…smart & stylish lines…a season-spanning wardrobe favorite!

MATERIALS: 
Woolco Germantown Zephyr, 8 skeins White & 2 skeins Contrast Color
#4 Crochet Hook
2 yds Ribbons

JACKET:
With White, ch 38.

1ST ROW:  Sk 2 ch, dc in each ch.  Turn, ch 3.

2ND ROW:  1 Sc & ch 3 in sp bet every 4th & 5th sts, & 1 in ch 2 at end of row.  There will be 9 groups.  Turn, ch 2.

3RD ROW:  5 Dc under 1st ch 3, 4 dc under each of next 7, ch 3, & 5 in last.  Turn, ch 3.

4TH ROW:  Same as 2nd row.

5TH ROW:  6 Dc under 1st & last ch, 4 under others.  Turn, ch 2.

6TH ROW:  1 Sc bet 2nd & 3rd dc, & bet 4th & 5th at end of row.  Ch 2, turn.

7TH ROW:  3 Dc in ch 2 at beg & end of row.

8TH ROW:  1 Sc bet 3rd & 4th dc at beg of row & 4th & 5th at end of row.  Turn, ch 3.

9TH ROW:  4 Dc under each ch.  Rep from 2nd row until there are 17 groups.

Then work 4 rows of 6 groups for shoulder & front.

Inc on each edge, same as back, until there are 8 groups. 

Work 17 rows of groups even.

Work other front same, leaving groups for collar.

Fasten contrast color in original ch, work around jacket 1 row of color, 1 white, 1 color in crazy st for border.  Fasten off. 

Turn over border for collar.

With color make 2 chains approx 1 ¼ yds long, & work sl st in each st.

Lace to for under arm.

Finish ends of cord with tassel made of both colors.
