Vintage 1934 Openwork Knit Sport Gloves #1022
 SIZE:
Medium

MATERIALS:
J & P COATS Knit-Cro-Sheen, 1 ball
! set Double-Pointed Plastic Knitting Needles #3 [3 mm]

Use double thread through pattern.

GLOVES:
Beg at cuff, cast on 60 sts.

1ST RND:  K plain.

2ND RND:  * K 1, k 2 tog, yo twice, k 2 tog , & rep from * around.

3RD RND:  K plain, working off thread overs as 1 st [48 sts].

4TH RND:  K 1, yo twice, k 2 tog, k 2, & rep from * around.

5TH TO 16TH RNDS:  Rep 3rd & 4th rnds alternately.

17TH TO 20TH RNDS:  K plain.

21ST RND:  K 1, * k 2 tog, k 2, & rep from * around.

22ND TO 24TH RNDS INCL:  K plain [36 sts].

25TH RND:  K 2, k 2 tog, yo once, k 2, yo, k 2 tog, k 1, yo, k 2 tog & k plain for rest of rnd.

26TH RND:  K plain.

27TH RND:  K 1, k 2 tog, yo, k 3, yo, k 2 tog, k 2, yo, k 2 tog, & k plain for rest of rnd.

28TH RND:  K plain.

29TH RND:  K 2 tog, yo, k 4, yo, k 2 tog, k 3, yo, k 2 tog & k rest of rnd.

30TH RND:  K plain.

31ST RND:  K 6, yo, k 2 tog & k plain rest of rnd.

32ND RND:  K plain.

33RD RND:  Same as 25th rnd.

[RIGHT HAND] 34TH RND:  K 17, cast on 7 sts, sk 7 sts of rnd below by slipping them on extra needle & k plain around.

35TH TO 46TH RNDS INCL:  Rep 27th to 32nd rnds incl, & 25th to 30th rnds incl, in order.

47TH TO 59TH RNDS INCL:  K plain.

FOREFINGER:
1ST RND:  K 3 plain, cast on 2 sts, sl following 24 sts on extra needles, k 9 plain.

2ND TO 22ND RNDS INCL:  K plain [14 sts on needles].

Then sl all sts on crochet hk & draw thread thru all lps.  Fasten off.

LITTLE FINGER:
Remove 7 of slipped off sts to st holder.

Attach thread to next st & k 10 plain.  Cast on 2 sts.

2ND TO 19TH RNDS INCL:  K plain & finish off as before.

RING FINGER:
Cast on 3 sts, k 3 from back side, pick up 4 sts from side of little finger, k 4 from palm side.

2ND TO 22ND RNDS INCL:  K plain & finish off as before.

MIDDLE FINGER:
Pick up 4 sts from ring finger, k 4 sts from back, 3 sts from forefinger & 3 from palm side.

2ND TO 23RD RNDS INCL:  K plain & finish off.

THUMB:
K 7 sts slipped off at 34th rnd & pick up 12 sts evenly around opening.

2ND TO 11TH RNDS INCL:  Work even rnds straight & dec 1 st in odd rnds.

12TH TO 23RD RNDS INCL:  K plain & finish off.

LEFT HAND GLOVE:
Work same to end of 33rd rnd.

On 34th rnd, k 25 & finish same as for right hand.
