Vintage Quick & Easy Shrug #506
A clever woman quickly
& very easily knits & fashions this simple, shrug-style, bedjacket with
2 sleeve lengths from which to choose…three-quarter or long sleeved. Feminine & smart, so certainly becoming
to almost any woman…a season-spanning, wardrobe favorite!
MATERIALS:

& B Quickerknit Baby Wool, 1 oz, three-quarter sleeve style 7 balls;
long sleeve style 9 balls
1
Pair each #1 & #10 Knitting Needles
MEASUREMENTS:
Length
at centre back is 20”.
ABBREVIATIONS:
INC = Increase
K = Knit

P = Purl
ST = Stitch
TOG = Together
SHRUG:
With
#10 needles cast on 40 sts.
FOLLOWING
ROWS: Work 4” [k 2, p 2] ribbing.
NEXT
ROW: Inc 1 st in each st to end of
row. [80 sts on needle].
NEXT
ROW: K 1 row.
FOLLOWING
ROWS: Change to #1 needles & k even
in Garter st [plain knitting every row] for 42” for three-quarter sleeves or 50”
for long sleeves.
Work
should meas 20” from side to side.
NEXT
ROW: Change to #10 needles & k 2 tog
across tow. [40 sts on needle].
FOLLOWING
ROWS: Work 4” [k 2, p 2] ribbing.
Cast
off LOOSELY in ribbing.
FINISHING:
Sew
cuff seam & about 5” above cuff to form sleeves.
