Vintage Crocheted Cape with Sleeves #371

This is an elegant variation on the cape theme, with sleeves & a delightful openwork design.  The contrasting colors are most attractive.  However, this cape would be equally lovely in one solid color with the design aspect solely on its pattern elements.  Attractive & suitable for many occasions, it can be made up very quickly.

SIZES: 

Directions are for sizes 8 thru 16. 

Larger sizes can be achieved by changing to a larger crochet hook.

MATERIALS: 

Knitting Worsted, 4 Ply, 4 oz skeins, 4 Main Color [MC], & 3 Contrasting Color [CC]

#H/8 Crochet Hook

2 Buttons ¾” diameter

2^ND ROW:  Ch 3, turn, work in back lp of sts only [unless otherwise mentioned] work 2 dc in back lp of first sc, * 1 dc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc, rep from * across row but end last rep with 3 dc in last sc & changing to MC in last dc as follows:  [with CC yo, insert hook in st, yo & pull thru st, yo & thru 2 lps on hook, tie MC onto CC strand of yarn, with MC, yo & thru rem 2 lps on hook; break off CC.]:  43 dc.
