Vintage Classique Cape
Jacket #368
This is an elegant
variation on the cape theme, being a jacket with cape-like sleeves…very easy
& quick to knit.
SIZES:
Directions
to fit bust 32” to 34”, with changes for sizes 36” to 38” in brackets.

sure to knit to this tension, so that your cape will be at least 16 ½” at
centre back [excluding neckband].

ROW: K 1, * p 1, k 1. Rep from * to end of row.
Rep
this row for Moss st for 7 rows in all.
8TH
ROW: K to last 4 sts. [P 1, k 1] twice.
9TH
ROW: K 1, [p 1, k 1] twice. P to end of row: [side edge].

8th & 9th rows 7 times more. [23 rows in all from cast-on edge.]

Cast
off firmly, being sure cast-off edge measures approx 9” - 9 ½”.
TO
MAKE UP:
Sew
bottom 17 rows of back similar 17 rows of each front.
Sew
bottom 17 rows of each sleeve tog for sleeve seam, then rem of side edges of
this cape section to side edges of fronts.
Sew
cast-off edges of neckband tog & placing this seam at centre-back of neck,
sew in position, gathering about 6 rows to curve around each front corner.
Sew
buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
