Vintage Cable Yoke Knit Jacket #430

Easy to create in a charming knit pattern with a cable stitch yoke, rib stitch body, & collar, or the alternate choice of hood.  This becoming jacket will become a season-spanning wardrobe favorite…perfect for many occasions!

SIZE: 

8-10-12-14-16-18 

Directions are given for 8-10. 

Changes for 12-14; & 16-18 are given in brackets. 

Larger sizes can be made by increasing size of needles.

MATERIALS:

4-Ply Knitting Worsted 4 oz skeins, 6 [7, 8] oz

1 Set of 4 Double-Pointed & 1 Circular #8 American Knitting Needles

Or 1 Set of 4 Double-Pointed & 1 Circular #5 English Knitting Needles

5 - ¾  Buttons

NOTE: 

For Hooded jacket, you will need 1 more skein of worsted.

GAUGE: 

14 rows of patt st = 4 ½” x 2 ½”.

BEGIN:

Cast on 24 sts.

1^ST ROW:  K 2, p 2 across row.  Rep 1^st row 6 times.

8^TH ROW:  P 2, k 2 across row.  Rep 1^st row 6 times.

KNITTED JACKET [WITH COLLAR]: 

COLLAR: 

Cast on 97 sts with circular needle.

1^ST ROW:  K 3, * p 1, k 1; rep from * across row to 4 end sts, p 1, k 3.
