Vintage 1945 Woman’s Lacy Net Snood #204

MATERIALS: 
Hiawatha Nylon Corde, 2 tubes or
Hiawatha Super Twist Rayon Cord, 2 tubes
Steel Crochet Hook #00 or Bone Crochet Hook #5
1/3 yard Satin Ribbon, 3”
1 ½ yds Satin Ribbon, 1 ½”.

STITCHES:
CH                  =  chain                                 
DC                  =  double crochet
DEC               =  decrease                          
INC                 =  increase
MEAS             =  measure                           
REP                =  repeat
SC                  =  single crochet                  
SK                   =  skip
SL                   =  slip                                     
ST                   =  stitch

SNOOD:  Ch 35,

1st row:  Sc in 5th ch from hook, * ch 5, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch.  Rep from * across [11 loops].  Ch 5, turn.

2nd row:  Sc in loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, * 7 dc in next sc --shell made--sc in next loop, [ch 5, sc in next loop] twice.  Rep from * across, end with sc in last loop, ch 5, sc in same loop [loop inc].  ch 5, turn.

3rd row:  Sc in loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop, 7 dc in next sc, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in center shell.  Rep from * across, end with sc in last loop, ch 5, sc in same loop [loop inc].  ch 5, turn.

4th row: Sc in loop, * ch 5, sc in center of shell, [ch 5, sc in next loop] twice. 
Rep from * across inc 1 loop.  Ch 5, turn.

5th row:  Sc in loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop.  Rep from * across, inc [15 loops].  Ch 5, turn.

6th row:  Sc in loop, * 7 dc in next sc, sc in next loop, [ch 5, sc in next loop] twice.  Rep from * across [no inc].  Ch 5, turn.

7th row:  Sc in loop, * ch 5, sc in center of shell, ch 5, sc in next loop, 7 dc in next sc, sc in next loop.  Rep from * across [no inc].  Ch 5, turn.

8th row:  Sc in loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, * ch 5, sc in center of shell, [ch 5, sc in next loop] twice.  Rep from * across [no inc].  Ch 5, turn.

9th row:  Sc in loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop.  Rep from * across.  Ch 5, turn.

Rep 6th to 9th rows inclusive until piece is 15” long [meas down center], then dec 1 loop at end of each row until 11 rows remain.  Do not fasten off, but work 2 sc in each loop around. 

Work 1 more rnd of sc, hold in edge to meas 26”.  Sl st in next st.  Fasten off.

FINISHING: 
Cut narrow ribbon in half. 

Pleat ends of wide ribbon & sew one narrow ribbon to each end. 

Sew one edge of wide ribbon across top of snood. 

Cross narrow ribbons at back of head & tie bow in front [over wide ribbon].
