Vintage 1957 Simple Ridged Shrug #325

Materials:  
6 oz American Thread “Dawn” Orlon or Orlon Pompadour, High Bulk Fingering Yarn
1 Pair Knitting Needles #5

ABBREVIATIONS:
BEG =       Begin/Beginning
DEC =       Decrease
K       =       Knit
MEAS=      Measure
P       =       Purl
REP  =       Repeat
TOG =       Together

Starting at collar cast on 348 sts & work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for 4”.

Next row:  K 2 tog across row [174 sts].

Next row:  * P 2, k 2, rep from * across row end with p 2.

Work even in ribbing for 2” from dec.

Next 2 rows:  Cast on 18 sts at end of each row for sleeves.  Keeping ribbing uniform work even until cuff edge meas 12” from cast on sts.

Next 2 rows:  Bind off 18 sts at beg of each row.  Work even in ribbing for 6”, bind off.

Fold in half & starting at sleeve, sew sleeves & underarm seams.
