Vintage 1972 Crocheted Lace Crystal Beaded Cap #718


So easy to create this exquisite, lace, crystal-beaded cap…Picture it with a lovely, lace bridal veil! 
MATERIALS:
Elastic metallic yarn, 3 6O-yard cards gold.
Metallic thread, 2 85-yard tubes gold.
Walbead Plexi faceted crystal beads 8 mm, about 200:
15 pendant drops, 22 x 12 mm;
30 long beads, 12 x 6 mm.
Steel crochet hook #00

GAUGE:
3 ch-3 lps=2"

Be sure to check your gauge before starting garment.
Use any size hook which will obtain the stitch gauge above.

CAP:
String 150 round beads on metallic thread.

Work with elastic yarn & metallic thread tog.

Beg at center crown, ch 3, join with sI st in first ch to form ring.

Rnd 1: 10 sc in ring. Do not join rnds; mark end of rnds.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around -- 20 sc.

Rnd 3: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around -- 30 sc.

Rnd 4: * Ch 3, sc in next sc, rep from * around -- 30 ch-3 lps. Turn to wrong side.

Rnd 5: * Ch 3, sc in next lp, rep from * around -- 30 ch-3 lps.

Rnd 6: * Ch 1, push up bead close to work, ch 1 over bead, ch 1, sc in next lp, ch 3, sc in next lp, rep from * around -- 15 beads.

Rnd 7: * Ch 3, sc in next lp (push bead to right side of cap), ch 3, sc in next lp, rep from * around.

Rnds 8-25: Rep rnds 6 & 7 alternately.

Rnd 26: Work 1 more rnd of ch-3 lps. Cut fine thread & fasten it.

On fine thread, string beads in following order: * 1 long bead, 1 pendant, 1 long bead, 3 round beads, rep from * 14 times.

Rnd 27: * Working with both strands tog, ch 1, push up round bead, ch 1 over bead, ch 1, push up next round bead, ch 1 over bead, ch 1, push up next round head, ch 1 over bead, ch 1, sc in next lp, ch 1, push up next 3 beads as one pendant, ch 1 to hold pendant tog, ch 1, sc in next lp; rep from * around. End off.
