Vintage 1960 Quick Fishnet Raffia & Mohair Snood #1009

You’ll love how quickly this project flies off your hook!  Soon you’ll be making them in every shade to keep & gift…this is also a marvelous church bazaar sale item…orders will come in droves!

MATERIALS:
1 spool Jolly Raffia
2 balls Patons Mohair
#6 Crochet Hook
1 ½ yds Ribbon 1” wide

NOTE:
Use 1 strand raffia & 1 strand mohair throughout pattern.

Inc:  To Increase – work 2 patt sts into next 5 ch lp.

PATTERN STITCH:
Each patt st consists of 5 ch, 1 dc, & is worked into 5 ch lp of prev rnd.

SNOOD:
Make 4 ch; join into ring with sl st.

Work 4 patt sts into ring.

NEXT RND:  Inc [see above definition] in each st to end of rnd [8 patt sts].  Mark end of rnd.

NEXT RND:  [1 Patt st, 1 inc] to end.  [12 patt sts]

NEXT RND:  [2 Patt sts, 1 inc] to end.  [16 patt sts]

NEXT RND:  1 Patt st in each st to end.  [16 patt sts]

NEXT RND:  [3 Patt sts, 1 inc] to end. [20 patt sts]

NEXT RND:  1 Patt st in each st to end.  [20 patt sts]

NEXT RND:  [4 Patt sts, 1 inc] to end. [24 patt sts]

NEXT RND:  1 Patt sr in each st to end.  [24 patt sts]

Work 3 more rnds, inc 4 sts on each as before until 36 patt sts worked.

Work 3 rnds without shaping.  Fasten off.

FINISHING:
Press with warm iron & damp cloth on wrong side of work.

Thread ribbon & tie into bow.

Bow can be worn in front at top of head, or in back at neck.
