Designed
for late afternoon or evening, a charming dress of crocheted lace…just imagine
it in a lovely ankle length…black for evening…or all white for a bridal gown!

Heart Orlon Fashion Yarn, 3 Ply, 16 skeins [1 oz]

Each
motif meas 1 ½” diameter.
BUST
MEASUREMENT: 32” - 34”
SKIRT:
Start
at lower edge make a ch 65” long.
1ST
RND: Hold back on hook last loop of each
dc, make dc in 6th ch from hook, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch, yo &
draw thru all loops on hook [joint dc made], * ch 2, make a joint dc by making
dc in same place as last dc, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch. Rep from * until row meas 56”, end with a
joint dc, ch 2, dc in same place as last dc.
Join to 3rd ch of starting ch, being careful not to
twist. Cut off any rem chain, leave 2 chs
free. Attach these 2 chs at base of 1st
dc.
2ND
RND: Ch 5, make a joint dc by making dc
in same place as sl st & in next joint dc, * ch 2, make joint dc by making
dc in same place as last dc & in next joint dc. Rep from * around, end with joint dc, ch 2,
dc in same place. Join to 3rd
ch of starting chain.
3RD
RND: Ch 3, dc in next joint dc, * ch 2,
make a joint dc by making dc in same place as last dc & in next joint
dc. Rep from * around, end with ch 2,
make last joint dc by making dc in same place as last dc & in same place as
starting chain, ch 2, sl st in top of ch-3.
Rep
last 2 rnds alternately for pattern.
Work
in patt for one more rnd.
On
next rnd dec 3 joint dc evenly around -- to dec 1 joint dc, make ch 2, then,
holding back on hook the last loop of each dc make dc in same place as last dc
& in next 2 joint dc, yo & draw thru all loops on hook.
Work
without dec for 6 more rnds.
Dec
3 joint dc evenly on next rnd, then work one more rnd without dec. Join & break off.
MOTIF
INSERTION - 1ST MOTIF:
Start
at center, ch 8. Join with sl st to form
ring.
1ST
RND: 10 Sc in ring. Join to 1st sc.
2ND
RND: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 7,
sc in next sc. Rep from * around, end
with ch 3, tr in 1st sc.
3RD
RND: * Ch 5, sc in next loop. Rep from * around. Join & break off.
SECOND
MOTIF:
Work
as for 1st Motif until 2 rnds have been comp.
3RD
RND: Ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 2, sl st
in any loop on 1st Motif, ch 2, sc in next loop on 2nd
Motif, ch 2, sl st in next loop on 1st Motif, ch 2, ac in next loop
on 2nd Motif. Comp rnd as for
1st Motif, no more joinings.
Make
34 more motifs, joining as 2nd Motif was joined to 1st
Motif, leave 3 loops free on each side of joining. Join last Motif to 1st Motif.
HEADING:
Attach
yarn to 1st free loop on any motif, ch 9, * sc in next loop, ch 5,
make a joint tr by making tr in next loop & in 1st loop on next
motif, ch 5. Rep from * around, end with
tr.
Join
to 4th ch of ch-9.
Work
heading along opposite side the same way.
Sew
Motif Insertion to last rnd of Skirt.
Attach
yarn to opposite side of Insertion & work as for 1st rnd of
solid section of skirt.
Dec
6 joint dc evenly on next rnd.
Work
without dec for 4 more rnds.
Dec
7 joint dc on next rnd.
Work
1 rnd without dec. Break off.
2ND
INSERTION RND: Make 33 motifs & comp
as before.
Work
next solid section same as before, dec 5 joint dc on each dec rnd.
3RD
INSERTION RND: Make 30 motifs & comp
as before.
Work
next solid section same as before, dec 5 joint dc on 1st dec rnd
& 4 joint dc on 2nd dec rnd.

INSERTION RND: Make 28 motifs. Comp as before.
Work
solid section as before, dec 7 joint dc on each dec rnd.
5TH
INSERTION RND: Make 24 motifs. Comp as before.
Work
in patt for solid section until 1st rnd has been comp.
Now
work in rows as follows:
1ST
ROW: Work in patt to end of row, dec 3
joint dc evenly across. Ch 3, turn.
Cont
to work in rows, dec 3 sts every other row 6 more times.
Work
2 rows without dec. Break off at end of
last row.
BODICE
- BACK:
Start
at waist, make a ch 15” long.
1ST
ROW: Work as for solid section of Skirt
until row meas 12 ½”. Cut off rem
ch. Ch 6, turn.
2ND
ROW: Make a joint dc by making dc in 1st
dc & in next joint dc [1 st inc at beg of row], work in patt across, end
with dc in top of turning chain, ch 2, dc in same place. Ch 3, turn [1 st inc at end of row].
Cont
in patt, inc 1 st at both ends of every 3rd row 5 more times.
Last
inc row should meas 16 ½”.
Work
without inc until piece meas 7”.
TO
SHAPE ARMHOLES:
1ST
ROW: Sl st to 3rd joint dc,
ch 3, work in patt across to within last 2 joint dc. Ch 3, turn.
2ND
ROW: Work in patt across.
Rep
last 2 rows once more. Break off.
FRONT:
Work
exactly as for Back.
SLEEVES:
Start
at lower edge, make a ch 15” long.
1ST
ROW: Work as for solid section of Skirt
until there are 35 joint dc on row. Cut
off rem ch. Ch 3, turn.
Work
in patt until piece meas 4”.
TO
SHAPE TOP:
Rep
1st 3 rows of armhole shaping.
Break off.
FINISHING:
Sew
side seams of Bodice, leaving 5” opening at left side for zipper.
Sew
sleeve seams.
Sew
in sleeves.
Sew
bodice to skirt.
Sew
in zipper.
Make
a row of motifs to reach around neck.
Work
Heading along each side.
Sew
in place around neck.
Attach
yarn to back & sc closely around neck, dec at each side of front &
back.
Attach
yarn to bottom of skirt & sc closely around. Join & break off.
Block
to measurements.
