Free Pattern - 1950s Sophisticate Shrug #1116

Vintage 1950s Sophisticate Shrug #1116
MATERIALS:
Spinnerin Spectator - 10, 1 oz Navy
Crochet Hook # 6
Pearls

GAUGE:
7 Hdc = 1".

NOTE:
Work only in back loop of st.

RIGHT HALF:
Ch 110, turn. 

1ST ROW: Sc in 2nd ch from hk & in following 24 ch, hdc in rem ch. Ch 2, turn. 

2ND ROW: Work hdc in each hdc & sc in each sc of prev row. Ch 1, turn. 

3RD ROW: Sc in each sc & hdc in each hdc of prev row. Ch 2, turn.

Rep 2nd & 3rd rows piece meas 34" at hdc edge. Fasten off. 

SLEEVE BAND:
1st Row:
 Work row of sc along sc edge, hold in to fit arm just below elbow. Ch 1, turn. 

2ND Row: Sc in each sc. Ch 1, turn.

Rep this 2nd row until band meas 1". Fasten off. 

BODY BAND:
Work row of sc along hdc edge. Ch 1, turn.

Now, rep 2nd row of sleeve band until band meas 1". Fasten off.

LEFT HALF:
Work exactly same as for Right Half.

FINISHING:
Seam each sleeve.

Join & sew both sleeves tog for about 12" (back).

With same yarn, string pearls.

Using crochet hk, trim sleeve bands & around body by making 2 sc be­t each pearl, be careful not to skip any sts.

Work loosely.

Block lightly.
