Crochet
hook #5.

Round Elastic. 1 Feather.
Net

GAUGE:

½ sts = 1”;
4
½ rnds = 1”.
Use 3 threads throughout pattern.
HAT:
Starting
at center top of crown, ch 5 loosely.
1st Rnd:
2
sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 2 sc in last ch; then, work
along opposite side of starting ch, make sc in next 2 ch [8 sc].
2nd & 3rd Rnds: 2 sc in each sc around [32 sc at end of 3rd
rnd].
4th, 5th & 6th
Rnds: Sc in each sc around.
7th Rnd:

sc in next sc, sc in next sc. Rep from *
around [48 sc].
8th Rnd:
Rep
4th rnd.
Cut
a piece of wire 17” long.
Overlap
ends of wire to form a circle 5” in diameter.
Fasten
ends securely.
9th Rnd:
Hold
wire at top of last rnd & work over it in order to conceal it, make sc in
each sc around.
10th Rnd:
Still
work over wire, make sc in each sc around.
11th to 18th Rnds incl: Rep 4th rnd.
19th Rnd:

a piece of wire 28” long.
Overlap
ends to form a circle 8 ½” in diameter & fasten securely.
27th & 28th Rnds: Rep 9th & 10th rnds.

Overlap
ends of rem 33” of wire to form a circle 10” in diameter & fasten securely.

At
end of 24th rnd, sl st in next sc.
Break off.
FINISHING:
Make
a ch 22” long. Break off.
Draw
ch thru eyelets of 22nd rnd & tie at center back.
Sew
on feather.
Fold
elastic in half.
Tie
a knot in center of double strand of elastic.
Sew
ends to inner side of crown, adjusting to fit.
NOTE:
To
make this hat extra special, add a veil of net, lace or dotted-swiss in a
matching color.
