1945 Butterfly Bow Hat #162

Materials: 

Dritz Wired Chenille Art. 105, 4 [36 yard skeins]

#2/E Crochet hook                          
82“ Millinery wire

Net Veil [if desired]

Gauge: 

3 ch = 1”

HAT:

1^st row:  Ch 41, sc in 5^th ch from hook * ch 3, sk 3 sc in next st.  Rep from * across [10 loops in all].

2^nd row:  Ch 3, sc in next loop, 3 dc in next sc, sc in next loop [* ch 3, sc] in each of next 3 loops, 3 dc in next sc, sc in next loop.  Rep from * across row. 

Rep 2^nd row until bow is 36” long. 

Sc over wire around entire piece.

Tab: 

1^st row:  Ch 17, sc in 5^th ch from hook.  * Ch 3, sk 3, sc in next st.  Rep from * across row [4 loops].

2^nd row:  Ch 3, turn.  Sc in 1^st loop, * ch 3, sc in next loop.  Rep from * twice, ch 3, sc again in last loop [3 loops].

3^rd row:  Ch 3, turn sc in 1^st loop [ch 3, sc] in each loop across row.

4^th row:  Ch 3, turn, sc in 1^st loop, ch 3, sc in next loop, 3 dc in next sc, sc in next loop [ch 3, sc] in each rem loop. 

Rep rows 3 & 4, dec 1 loop at the beg of each row, until 1 loop rem. 

Sc around entire piece.

Finishing: 

Make a bow with the 36” piece & sew straight end of tab to center.

NOTE: 

To make this ‘Fascinator’ extra special, add a veil of net, lace or dotted-swiss in a matching color. 

Experimenting with fabrics & color combinations will make this your own original creation!
