1945 Rosalie Floral Garland Halo Hat #461


Quick & easy to crochet this charming flower garland with the stylish lines of its design…a sophisticated, season-spanning wardrobe favorite…perfect for many occasions!

MATERIALS: 
Hiawatha Super Wired Chenille #36, 1 skein ea of 2 colors
#00 Steel or #5 Bone Crochet Hook
2 yds Velvet Ribbon, ¼” wide
Plastic Headband

BAND: 
With dark color make ch length of plastic headband.

1ST ROW:  Dc in 4th ch from hk & in each ch across.  Ch 3, turn.

2ND ROW:  Dc in each st across.  Fasten off, leave end for sewing.

FLOWER [MAKE 8]: 
OUTER PETALS: 
1ST RND:  With dark color, ch 2 loosely, work 9 sc in 2nd ch from hk.  Join with sl st in 1st sc.

2ND RND:  In back lp only of each st work sc, ch 1 & sc.  Join; fasten off.

CENTER: 
With light color, start 6” fron end, ch 4 [yo, insert hk in 4th ch from hk & draw up lp to height of ch-4] 5 times; yo & draw thru all lps on hk -- puff st made -- ch 3, join with sl st at base of puff st.  Fasten off, leave 6” end.

BUD [MAKE 9]: 
With light color work same as center of flower.

FINISHING: 
Cover plastic headband with crocheted piece. 

Using ends of chenille attached to centers, sew flowers at equal distances along band. 

Sew one bud at each end, & one bud bet each 2 flowers [alternate at top & bottom of band]. 

Make 9 small, velvet bows & sew one at base of each bud. 

Shape flowers with fingers.
