A clever woman quickly
& very easily crochets this charming turban hat with a delightful accent of
pearls…a season-spanning, wardrobe favorite!

Red Heart Knitting Worsted 1 oz, 3 balls

of Pearls

yd Black Grosgrain Ribbon ¾“ wide, [or color to match your yarn]

STITCHES:
CH = Chain
DC = Double
Crochet
HDC = Half
Double Crochet
REP = Repeat
RND = Round
SC = Single
Crochet
SK = Skip
SL ST= Slip Stitch
ST = Stitch
CROWN:
Start
at center, ch 12.
1ST
RND: 3 Dc in 2nd ch from
hook, dc in each ch across, 3 dc in last ch.
Work across opposite side of starting chain, make dc in each ch across.
2ND
RND: 2 Dc in next 3 dc [side], dc in
each dc across to next 3-dc group, 2 dc in next 3 dc [side], dc in each dc to
end of rnd.
3RD
RND: [2 Dc in next 6 dc, dc in each dc
to next 2-dc group] twice.
4TH
RND: [2 Dc in next 12 dc, dc in each dc
to next 2-dc group] twice.
5TH
RND: Dc in each dc around [66 dc]. Mark center front st with colored thread.
6TH
THRU 10TH RNDS: Dc in each dc
to within 4 sts of center front st, hdc in next st, sc in next 7 sts, hdc in
next st, dc in each dc to end of rnd.
Mark
center back st with colored thread.
11TH
RND: Dc in next 2 dc, ch 3, sk 3 dc, dc
in each dc to within 4 sts of center front st, hdc in next st, sc in next 7
sts, hdc in next st, dc in each st to within 9 sts of center back st, ch 3, sk
3 dc, dc in each st to end of rnd.
12TH
RND: Rep 6th rnd, make dc in
each st of each ch-3 sp.
13TH
RND: Sc in each st around. Sl st in next sc. Break off.
TRIM:
Cut
60 strands each 36” long.
Twist
slightly to left & double ends, twist slightly to right.
Sew
across front of Crown.
Sew
strand of pearls twice across Trim piece.
Draw
ribbon thru 2 slits at back & tie in a bow.
