ROW: Sk first ch, work 1 sc in each of
next 14 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 14 sts other side of ch, ch
1, turn.
2ND
ROW: 1 Sc in each of next 14 sts [using
back loop of st throughout], 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, 3 sc in next st,
1 sc in next 14 sts, ch 1, turn.
3RD
ROW: 1 Sc in each of next 15 sts, 3 sc
in next st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next
15 sts, ch 1, turn.
Cont
to inc as above for 16 rows.
Make
3 additional pieces.
MOTIFS:
Ch
6, join, ch 4.
1ST
ROW: Work 4 trc in ring, ch 2, * 5 trc
in ring, ch 2* rep bet * 2 times, join with sl st, ch 1.
2ND
ROW: * 1 Sc in each trc, 3 sc in ch 2 of
row below *. Rep bet * 3 times, join.
*Sew
motifs around 2 center pieces & sew tog*.
Rep bet *s for second half of
bag.
Make
paper patt from each crocheted piece & lay aside to be used later.
Holding
2 halves tog, with right side facing you, sc 1 or 2 rows tightly around 3 sides of bag, leaving
top open for zipper.
FINISHING:
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
zipper into bag for closure.
Attach
ornament to zipper pull.
Note: Cardboard
or lightweight plastic may be inserted between 2 layers of lining & bag to
give shape extra support.
HAT: CIRCLES:
Ch
6, join with sl st, ch 4.
1ST
ROW: 23 Trc in ring, join with sl st in
top of ch 4.
Make
6 circles & sew tog in this manner:
3 Across 1st row
2 Across 2nd row
1 in 3rd row.
RUFFLE:
Join
thread to hat, bet 1st & 2nd row, ch 8.
2ND
ROW: 1 Dc in next st, ch 3, 1 dc in next
st, ch 3, rep across 3 circles to same place on other side of circles, ch 4,
turn.
3RD
ROW: Rep 2nd row, working 3
sts in each sp. Ch 1, turn.
4TH
ROW: Work 1 sc in each st.
