Quick & easy to
create, this becoming hat will become a seasonal favorite & you’ll be a well dressed lady in town or country!
MATERIALS:

tubes Raphael Brand Gimp
#4
Steel Crochet Hook
1
Coil Cotton Rustproof Wire
CROWN:
Ch
4 & join with sl st to form ring.
1ST
ROW: Make 7 sc in ring.
2ND
ROW: Make 2 sc in each st of prev row.
3RD
ROW: Make 1 sc in 1st st, * 2
sc in next st, 1 sc in next st & rep from * to end of row.
4TH
& FOLLOWING ROWS: Make 1 sc in each
st of prev row with 7 incs in each row evenly spaced, until diameter of Crown
meas 4” [do not inc exactly over inc of prev row].
WORK
all following rows same as prev row, but with dcs until diameter of Crown meas
6 ½”.
CONTINUE
with dcs with inc until depth of Crown meas 4 ½” from center top to edge.
WORK
all following rows same as prev row, but with scs until depth of Crown meas 6”
from center top to edge. End off.
BAND:
Make
ch 38”. [Work all following rows over
wire.]
1ST
ROW: Make 1 sc in 2nd ch from
hook & in each ch across, ch 1, turn.
2ND
THRU 20TH ROWS: Make 1 sc in
each st of prev row, ch 1, turn. [Band
should meas 2 ½”.] End off.
DRAPE
around edge of Crown & join with scs on right side, leaving space of 2 ½”
at front for knot. End off.
FORM
half knot at front, fold in corners at each end to form points & tack as
shown in photo.
