1936 Regal Turban #408
Quick & easy to
create, this becoming turban will become a seasonal favorite & you’ll be a well dressed lady in town or country!
HEADSIZE:
21”
- 22”
MATERIALS:
Clark’s
ONT [5 balls], or J & P Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 10, [4 balls]

Steel Crochet Hook
TURBAN:
Ch
3, join in ring.
1ST
ROW: 6 hdc in ring.
2ND
ROW: 2 Hdc in each st.
3RD
ROW: * 2 Hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next
st. Rep from * around.
4TH
ROW: * 2 Hdc in next st, 1 hdc in each
of next 2 sts. Rep from * around.
Cont
to inc 6 sts [or enough to keep work flat] in each rnd at equal intervals, but
do not inc over inc of prev rnd, until work meas 7 ½” diameter.
Work
even, 1 sc in each st for 3”. Break off.
BAND:
1ST
ROW: Ch 28, sc in each ch. Ch 1, turn.
2ND
ROW: 2 Sc in back loop of 1st
st, 1 sc in back loop of rem sc, ch 1, turn.
3RD
ROW: Sk 1st st, 1 sc in back
loop of each sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn.
Rep
2nd & 3rd rows, having all decs on same side &
all incs on opposite side, until Band is req length to fit closely to
Crown.
Sew
two ends tog.
FINISHING:
Place
Band on hat, having bottom edge touch last row of hat for approx 2” at seam of
Band [center back].
Then
slope Band gradually until bottom edge of Band, at center front, touches first
row of sc on hat.
Sew
in place along bottom edge, leaving top edge loose.
