Quick & easy to create, this feminine beret will become a
season-spanning favorite

HEADSIZE:
22”
MATERIALS:
Clark’s ONT Cronita [3 balls], or J &
P Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen [2 balls]
#4 Steel Crochet Hook
BERET:
To beg, ch 6 & join with sl st to form
ring.
1ST RND: 8 Sc in ring.
2ND RND: 2 Sc in each sc.
3RD RND: Sc in next sc, ch 2, sc in same sc, sc in
each of next 3 sc, ch 3, sc in same sc, sc in each of next 3 sc, ch 2, sc in
same sc, sc in each of next 5 sc, ch 2, sc in same sc, sc in each of next 5 sc.
4TH RND: Sc under ch-2, ch 2, sc in same place, * sc
in each sc to next ch-2, sc under ch-2, ch 2, sc in same place. Rep from * around.
5TH RND: Work sc in each sc, & under each ch-2
make 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc [makes 4 sectional ridges] & make 1 inc in each of 2
wide sections [to inc, work 2 sc in 1 sc].
6TH THRU 12TH RNDS: Same as 5th rnd, take care not to
inc directly over inc of prev rnd.
13TH THRU 48TH
RNDS: Inc in sc right after ch-2 [make a
long ridge bet two larger sections] for every other rnd.
WORK should not meas from 5 ¼” to 5 ½” in
radius [from center ring to edge]. If
not, add more rnds.
49TH RND: Sc in each sc, & only 1 sc under each
ch-2. Do not make any more ch-2 at
ridges.
50TH, 51ST & 52ND
RNDS: Sc in each sc.
53RD THRU 60TH
RNDS: Dec 1 sc at each ridge.
61ST THRU 70TH
RNDS: Dec 2 sc in each of two wide
sections in each rnd, [to dec, insert hook in next st, pull thru, insert hook
in next st, pull thru, then draw thread thru all 3 loops at once], but do not
make dec directly over a dec of prev rnd.
BERET should now meas 22” head size. If too large, make few more dec rnds.
WORK EVENLY for approx 14 rnds, without
inc or dec.
