Quick & easy to
create, this feminine hat will become a season-spanning favorite & you’ll be the best dressed lady on the block!
HEADSIZE: 22”
MATERIALS:
Clark’s
ONT Cronita [3 balls]
OR
J
& P Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, [2 balls]

Steel Crochet Hook
HAT:
Beg
at tip, ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
Ch 1.
1ST
RND: 6 Sc in ring.
2ND
RND: 2 Sc in each sc.
3RD
RND: * 2 Sc in next sc, sc in next sc,
rep from * around.
4TH
RND: * Sc in next sc, then insert hook
at base of next sc, draw loop thru & work off as for sc [hereafter this
will be called a long sc or lsc], rep from * around.
5TH
RND: * Lsc in next sc, sc in next lsc,
rep from * around.
The
entire hat is made by alternating sc & lsc, always being careful to place a
sc in lsc & lsc in sc of prev rnd.
With
safety pin, mark the end of each rnd.
6TH
& 7TH RNDS: Work in patt.
8TH
RND: Work in patt, make 4 incs at equal
distances apart [to make inc, make next lsc in same place where next lsc of
prev rnd is made, then, sc in next sc, lsc at base of same sc of prev rnd, sc
in next lsc, & cont with patt].
9TH
& 10TH RNDS: Work in patt
straight.
11TH
RND: Work in patt, make 6 incs.
WORK
3 rnds straight.
ON
next rnd, make 7 incs.
REPEAT
last 4 rnds 5 more times.
WORK
straight until hat meas 5 ½” from tip to edge of hat. Break off.
TURN
last 2 rnds over to right side & sew in place.
BOW:
Make
chain to meas 11”, turn.
1ST
ROW: Sc in 2nd ch from hook
& sc in each ch st. ch 1, turn.
2ND
ROW: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
3RD
ROW: * Sc in next sc, lsc in next sc,
rep from * across, end with lsc. Ch 1,
turn.
REPEAT
3rd row until piece meas 5”.
Break off.
TAB:
Ch
19, turn & same as Bow for 10 rows.
Place
Tab to tip of hat & sew across the two short ends to Hat, looping Tab
slightly.
PULL
Bow thru Tab & tack it to Hat at ends as shown in photo
