20TH THRU 22ND RNDS:  Same as 13th, 14th & 15th rnds.  Do not break off, but cont with Brim.

BRIM:
1ST RND:  Ch 3, * 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc, rep from * around.  Join with sl st to 3rd st of ch-3.

Hereafter, pick up only back loop of each dc of prev rnd.

2ND & 3RD RNDS:  Ch 3, dc in each dc.  Join with sl st.

4TH RND:  Ch 3, dc in each dc, inc 1 dc in every 5th dc [to inc, make 2 dc in 1 st].  Join.

5TH RND:  Ch 3, dc in dc, inc in every 6th dc.  Join.

6TH RND:  Ch 3, dc in each dc.  Join & break off thread.

TO SHAPE BRIM:
Hereafter work in rows, breaking off thread at end of each row & attaching to beg of prev row, as follows:

1ST ROW:  From joining of last rnd, measure off 5” towards left, attach thread at this point, & make 1 sc in each of next 2 dc, 1 hdc in each of next 2 dc, dc in each dc to within 5” from join, then 1 hdc in each of next 2 dc, 1 sc in each of next 2 dc, sl st in next dc.  Break off.

2ND ROW:  Attach thread to 1st dc at beg of 1st row, 1 sc in each of next 2 dc, 1 hdc in each of next 2 dc, dc in each dc, inc 1 dc in every 7th dc to within 5 dc from end of prev row, then 1 hdc in each of next 2 dc, 1 sc in each of next 2 dc, sl st in next dc.  Break off.

3RD & 4TH ROWS:  Same as 2nd row, but without incs.  Break off.

5TH ROW:  Attach thread to 8th dc at beg of 4th row, & work as before, inc in every 9th dc, & work to within 13 dc from end of 4th row, then 2 hdc, 2 sc & 1 sl st.  Break off.

6TH & 7TH ROWS:  Same as 5th row, but without incs.  Break off.

To make Brim stiff, work sc closely to all around edge of Brim, holding along wire & working over it, so that it is completely covered.

Fasten wire neatly at back & complete work with 1 rnd of sl sts.

CORD:
Hold thread double, make ch approx 48”, turn & make sl st in each ch.  Break off.

Pass Cord thru 3rd row of Brim, pass under 2 dc & over 2 dc, etc, & tie into bow at right front.

ENJOY!
