Quick to create, this
sophisticated & feminine hat will become a season-spanning favorite!
MATERIALS:
Clark’s
ONT Knitting & Crochet Cotton, 1 ball White & 1 ball Navy Blue
#1
or #2 Steel Crochet Hook
Use double thread throughout.
CROWN:
Beg
with White. Ch 3, join with sl st to
form ring.
1ST
RND: Make 6 sc in ring, & cont
working around.
2ND
RND: 2 Sc in each sc of prev rnd.
3RD
RND: * Sc in sc, 2 sc in next sc [inc],
rep from * around.
4TH
RND: Sc in next sc, ch 6, sk 5 sc, sc in
next sc [making slit], & cont around make sc in each sc with 6 incs in rnd.
5TH
RND: Sc in each sc, & sc in each ch
of ch-5, make 6 incs in rnd.
6TH
THRU 9TH RNDS: Sc in each sc
of prev rnd with 6 incs as before.
10TH
RND: Make another slit directly over
prev slit, but sk 9 sc, ch 10, & make sc in next sc, & cont around with
6 incs.
11TH
RND: Sc in each sc & sc in each ch
of ch-10.
12TH
TO 20TH RNDS: [Or until work
meas approx 6”]: 6 Incs to each rnd [2
sc in sc makes inc].
21ST
THRU 41ST RNDS: [Or until
desired depth of crown]: Sc each rnd
without inc. Break off.
BRIM:
Attach
Navy blue.
1ST
RND: Turn work & in opposite
direction make sc in each sc of crown, with 4 incs of 1 sc spaced at equal
intervals.
2ND
THRU 7TH RNDS: Sc in each sc
of prev rnd.
8TH
RND: Cont as before, make 4 incs in rnd.
9TH
RND: Sc in each sc.
10TH
RND: Sc in each sc with 4 incs.
11TH
RND: Sc in each sc.
12TH
RND: Sc in each sc with 4 incs.
13TH
THRU 17TH RNDS: Sc in each sc
of prev rnd.
BOW:
With
Navy Blue, ch 25.
1ST
ROW: Sc in 2nd ch from hook,
& in each st of ch. Ch 1, turn.
2ND
THRU 35TH ROWS: Sc in each sc
across. Ch 1, turn.
FINISHING:
Insert
bow thru slit in crown.
