Vintage Classic Envelope Purse #312
 Quick & easy to create, this classic envelope purse will become a season-spanning favorite!

MATERIALS: 
1 large spool Corde
Interchangeable with Bagtwist, Gimp, or Straw
#3 Bone Crochet Hook

PURSE:
Ch 4, join with sl st, ch 3.

1ST ROW:  Work 2 dc in ring * ch 2, work 3 dc in ring; rep bet * two more times, ch 2, join with sl st in 3rd ch of ch 3 turn.

2ND ROW:  * Work 1 popcorn [5 dc in one st, drop last loop, put hook in 1st st, & pull last loop thru 1st st], ch 2 & another popcorn, in ch 2 of row below; rep bet * 3 more times, join with sl st in top of ch 3; ch 3 turn.

3RD ROW:  * Work 3 dc, ch 2 & 3 dc in ch 2 of row below, & 3 dc bet popcorns on side of square, ch 2 rep bet * 3 more times, ch 2, join with sl st in top of ch 3; ch 3 turn.

4TH ROW:  * Work popcorn in same sp as ch 3; ch 2, popcorn in next sp, ch 2, popcorn, ch 2, popcorn in corner * rep bet * around row, ch 2, join, ch 3 turn.

Rep rows 3 & 4 one more time, & then rep row 3.

Start at center of one side of square work 3 dc in each st around half of square, ch 3 turn.

2ND ROW:  Work 1 dc in each dc of prev row, work 3 dc in each corner.

Rep row 2 until bag measures 14” across.

OTHER SIDE OF BAG:
Ch 4, join with sl st, ch 3.

1ST ROW:  Work 2 dc in ring.  * Ch 2.  Work 3 dc in ring, rep bet * one more time, ch 3 turn.

2ND ROW:  Work 2 dc in same st as ch 3 * ch 2 work 3 dc ch 2 & 3 dc in next ch 2 sps, rep bet * one more time, work 3 dc in last st of last 3 dc group, ch 3 turn.

Cont work square in this manner [plain dc square] for 7 rows.

Work outer part of side same as other side.

Make paper patt for each crocheted piece & lay aside to be used later.

Cut lining according to paper patts & sew tog. 

Join 3 sides with sc.

Shirr lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.

Insert finished lining in bag. 

Note:  Cardboard or lightweight plastic may be inserted between bag & lining to give shape of bag extra support.
