4TH: Cut 2 pieces of crinoline ½” shorter, but same width as lining pieces.
5TH: With right sides facing, sew 2 pieces of lining tog along 1 width & 2 height edges, allow ½” for seams.

HAT:
Start at center of Crown with Wine, ch 5, join with sl st to form ring.
Start at center of Crown with Wine, ch 5, join with sl st to form ring.
1ST RND: Ch 1, in ring make 2 sc, 5 hdc and 8 dc. Do not join rnds.
Work
following rnds in back lps only.
2ND RND: 2 dc in each st (30 dc).
3RD RND: * Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc (1 dc inc); rep from *
around.
4TH RND: Dc in each dc, inc 15 dc evenly.
Rep 4th
Rnd thru 9th Rnd or until size of Crown, end with 5 hdc, 5 sc.
Mark
rem lp of dc at base of last sc.
NEXT RND: Sl st in both lps of each st around; join. Drop Wine.
TRIM:
With edge of Crown facing, attach Gray to marked st, (ch 1, sl st in rem lp of next st) rep around & around to center. Fasten off.
With edge of Crown facing, attach Gray to marked st, (ch 1, sl st in rem lp of next st) rep around & around to center. Fasten off.
SIDE:
With Wine, ch 2, turn, hdc in back lp of each sl st; join.
With Wine, ch 2, turn, hdc in back lp of each sl st; join.
2NDwithRND: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in back lp of sl st, dc in back lp of each
st around 15 incs evenly spaced; join to ch-3, sl st in next dc.
Rep 2nd
Rnd twice, work thru both lps of sts. Fasten off.
Attach
Wine to 18th st to right of 3-dc shell & make 4 sc, 4 hdc, 4 dc &
6 tr; 5 tr in next (center) dc of shell; then make 6 tr, 4 dc, 4 hdc, 4 sc &
1 sl st. Fasten off.
Attach
to 3rd sc from start of last row & make 6 sc, 6 hdc & 5 dc;

Sew
ends of spirals tog.

on front of Hat.
BOW:
Cut 24 strands Gray, each 20” long.

Divide
strands into 3 groups & braid.
Wind
thread 1½” from ends & tie.
Fringe
ends.
Shape
into bow & sew on back of Hat.
Sew
Hat on frame, turning last 2 sc-rnds over, inside frame.
COLLAR:
With Wine, ch 99 to measure 14½”.
With Wine, ch 99 to measure 14½”.
1ST ROW: Sk 3 ch, dc in 96 ch.
2ND ROW: Ch 3, turn & work in back lps; hold last 2 lps of each
dc on hk, make dc in 1st 2 dc, yo & draw thru all 3 lps on hk at
same time (Cluster made); dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc (1 dc inc), (dc in
next 9 dc, 2 dc in next dc) * 8 times, dc in next 6 dc, dc in 2 end sts made
into Cluster.
3RD ROW: Work in front lps, rep 2nd Row to *; dc in next
66 dc, 1 inc, 10 dc, 1 inc, & 6 dc;
Cluster in 2 end sts.
4TH ROW: Work in both lps. Ch 3, turn, dc-Cluster in 1st 2 dc, then
make 13 dc, an inc, (18 dc, an inc) 4 times, 14 dc; dc-Cluster in 2 end sts.
5TH ROW: Rep 4th Row, make 6 inc around.
6TH ROW: Rep 4th Row, makeng 7 inc around. Fasten off.
EDGE:
Attach Wine to other end at neck corner, work sc across end, 2 hdc in 1st st in last row, make dc around, with 7 inc to 3rd dc from end, 2 hdc in next st, sc in next st, work sc across end to neck corner. Fasten off.

& press dry on back thru cloth.

With Wine, ch 64.

1ST ROW: Sk 3 ch, dc in 59 ch, dc in 2 end ch made into Cluster.
2ND ROW: Ch 3, turn, dc in front lp of each st across, (dc in end dc,
dc in end ch-3) made into Cluster.
3RD ROW: Ch 3, turn, dc in back lp of each st across, (dc in end dc,
dc in ch-3) made into Cluster.
Repeat
2nd & 3rd Rows for 11¾”, end with 2nd Row.
Then
make 4 more rows, going thru both lps of sts. Fasten off.
TRIM:
With starting end facing, attach Gray to rem lp of 1st dc in Row 1, * (ch 1, sl st in next st) rep across. Fasten off.
With starting end facing, attach Gray to rem lp of 1st dc in Row 1, * (ch 1, sl st in next st) rep across. Fasten off.
2ND ROW: Return to other end of row & attach Gray to rem lp of 1st
dc in next row & repeat from * up to 5th row from other end.

Trim on end row, work in front lps only, then work sc across long side, across
end & other long side; join & fasten off.

3 Double-Spirals (as for Hat) & sew on plain band of flap.
GUSSET:
With Wine, ch 30, sk 1 ch, sc in next 12 ch, hdc in next 10 ch, dc in next 6 ch, 7 dc in end ch; on other side of chain make 6 dc, 10 hdc & 12 sc.
With Wine, ch 30, sk 1 ch, sc in next 12 ch, hdc in next 10 ch, dc in next 6 ch, 7 dc in end ch; on other side of chain make 6 dc, 10 hdc & 12 sc.
2ND ROW: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st halfway to end, dc in each st
around to same place on opposite side, inc 7 dc around end; hdc to end.
3RD ROW: Ch 1, turn, * sc around with 9 inc around end. Fasten off.
4TH ROW: Attach Gray to start of last row & rep 3rd Row,
beg at *.
Make
2nd piece.
Stretch
& pin pieces right-side-down in true shape.
Steam
& press dry thru cloth.
Line
Bag & Gussets with buckram & felt.
Sew
Gusset in each end.
Sew
snap fastener on flap.

“HOW-TO” INSTRUCTIONS:
1. MAKE TWISTED CORD:
Cut
strands as directed.
Knot
ends & put knotted end over stationary hk.
Twist
strands until they buckle; then double piece & slip other end over hk.
Twist
in opposite direction & knot free ends to prevent raveling.
Draw
cords in opposite directions through beading. Tie & trim ends.
2. LINE FRAME BAGS:
1ST: Meas inside edge of 1 side of Metal Bag
Frame; add 1”. This is width of lining.
2ND: Meas height of crocheted piece, incl ½
of bottom of bag [if there is one]; add 1”. This is length of lining.
3RD: Cut 4 pieces of lining material, follow
above meas.
4TH: Cut 2 pieces of crinoline ½” shorter, but same width as lining pieces.
5TH: With right sides facing, sew 2 pieces of lining tog along 1 width & 2 height edges, allow ½” for seams.
Sew 2 crinoline pieces
in same way.
Slip lining piece inside
crinoline piece, turn lining over at top edge & tack [right side of lining
is inside].
Sew 3 edges of rem 2
lining pieces. Turn right side out.
Slip crinoline piece
inside this piece.
Turn top edge down bet
other thicknesses & sew in place.
Top edge of lining
should be same meas as inner edge of open frame.
3. LINE DRAWSTRING BAGS:
1ST: Meas ½ of top edge of crocheted bag.
This is width of lining.
2ND & 3RD: Same as for Frame Bag.
4TH: With right sides facing, sew 2 pieces of lining tog along 1 width & 2 height edges, allow ½” for seams.
Sew rem 2 pieces in same way. Turn right side out.
