MATERIALS:
Jack Frost, 2 oz. – 3 tubes
Size #4 White Crochet Hook

BAG:
Ch 54.
Ch 54.
Work
3 rows of dc, st for st, starting with 3rd ch on 1st
row. Ch 3, turn.
Work
as follows:
1ST ROW: Work 1 dc in each of next 25 sts; 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of rem 25 sts. Ch 3, turn.
1ST ROW: Work 1 dc in each of next 25 sts; 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of rem 25 sts. Ch 3, turn.
2ND
ROW: Work 1 dc in each dc of prev row; 2
dc, ch 2, 2 dc over ch 1 in center. Ch
3, turn.
Rep
2nd row until 14 rows in all have been made.
Make
a second piece to match.
BORDER:
Work 1 row of sc around both pieces, working 3 sc in each corner st. Ch 3, turn.
Work 1 row of sc around both pieces, working 3 sc in each corner st. Ch 3, turn.

Work 1 dc in each of 1st 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, remove hk & sl
it into 1st of 5 dc just made, pull lp thru; rep from * around entire
piece.
Work
another row of patt on sides & lower edge only.
Sew
both pieces tog.
HANDLE:
Ch 8.
Ch 8.
Work
1 dc in 3rd st from hk, 1 dc in each of rem 5 sts.
Cont
working rnd & rnd in dc, st for st, for desired length [NOTE: if you make strap longer, this can become a
becoming shoulder bag].
Make
2 pieces.
Join
to bag as shown in photo.
MISS
JULIA’S PURSE LINING NOTES:
[Before
joining finished pattern pieces]
Make
paper patt from crocheted pieces & lay aside to be used later.
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper [if desired].
Attach
ornament to zipper pull tab [if desired].
Note: Cardboard
or lightweight plastic may be inserted between 2 layers of lining & bag to
give shape extra support.
