Wonderful
design of popcorn stitch pattern interwoven with ridges of metallic gold braid.
MATERIALS:
Jack Frost Knitting Worsted, 3 ¾ oz – 2 skeins
Gold Braid – 4 yds
Size #4 White Crochet Hook

BAG:
Ch 69.
Ch 69.
1ST
ROW: Sk 1 ch. Work 1 sc in each of next 68 ch sts. Ch 3, turn.
2ND
ROW: Work 1 dc in each sc of 1st
row. Ch 1, turn.
3RD
ROW: Work 1 sc in each dc of 2nd
row. Ch 3, turn.
4TH
ROW: Work 1 dc in each of 1st
2 sc of 3rd row, * 5 dc in next st, remove hk & sl it into 1st
of 5 dc just made, draw lp thru, work 1 dc in each of next 2 sts; rep from *
across row. Ch 1, turn.
Rep
above 4 rows 4 times.
Work
a second piece in same manner.
Pull
gold braid in & out [weave] of dc rows.
Join
2 sides & lower edge with row of sc.
MISS
JULIA’S PURSE LINING NOTES:
[Before
joining finished pattern pieces]
Make
paper patt from crocheted pieces & lay aside to be used later.
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper [if desired].
Attach
ornament to zipper pull tab [if desired].
Note: Cardboard
or lightweight plastic may be inserted between 2 layers of lining & bag to
give shape extra support.
