MOTIFS:
Ch 5, join with sl st to form ring.

ROW: Ch 3, work 4 dc in ring [ch 3 forms
1 st], * ch 2, work 5 dc in ring; rep from * twice, ch 2. Join with sl st.
2ND
ROW: Ch 3, work 1 dc in each of next 4
dc of prev row, * 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc over ch 2 of prev row, 1 dc in each of next
5 dc; rep from * twice ending with 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc over ch 2. Join with sl st.
Work
1 row of sc around motifs, working 3 sc over ch 2 at corners.
Make
66 motifs.
FINISHING:
Join motifs tog.
Join motifs tog.
Join
5 motifs on row, for gusset.
Make
second piece to match, following same instructions,
Join
both sides of bag tog about 1 ½” above gusset, with row of sc.
Turn
points at top of bag over handles.
MISS
JULIA’S PURSE LINING NOTES:

Make
paper patt from crocheted pieces & lay aside to be used later.
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper [if desired].
Attach
ornament to zipper pull tab [if desired].
Note: Cardboard
or lightweight plastic may be inserted between 2 layers of lining & bag to
give shape extra support.
