Jack Frost Ribbon Braid – Red 1 gr yds, & Navy 1 gr yds
Pair Standard #2 Needles – 14”
Pair Standard #4 Needles – 14”

Size
#4 White Crochet Hook
BAG:
With #2 needles & navy, cast on 80 sts.
With #2 needles & navy, cast on 80 sts.
K
4 rows.
Join
red & k 1 row, p 1 row for 4 rows.
Join
navy & k 4 rows.
Change
to #4 needles & work in patt as follows:
1ST ROW: With red * k 2 sts,
sl next 2 sts as if to p, holding ribbon
in back of work; rep from * across row.
2ND
ROW: * Sl 2 sts as if to p holding ribbon in front of work, p 2;
rep from * across row.
Change
to navy.
3RD
ROW: K 1 row.
4TH
ROW: P 1 row.
Change
to red.
5TH
ROW: * Sl 2 sts as if to p, k 2; rep
from * across row.
6TH
ROW: * P 2, sl 2 sts as if to p; rep
from * across row.
Change
to navy.

Work
a 2nd piece to match in same manner.
Join
2 pieces tog on 3 sides with row of sc.
MISS
JULIA’S PURSE LINING NOTES:
[Before
joining finished pattern pieces]
Make
paper patt from crocheted pieces & lay aside to be used later.
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper [if desired].
Attach
ornament to zipper pull tab [if desired].
Note: Cardboard
or lightweight plastic may be inserted between 2 layers of lining & bag to
give shape extra support.
