Ch 6, join, ch 3.
1ST
ROW: * 1 Dc, ch 2 *. Rep bet * 6 times. Join, ch 3.
2ND
ROW: Work 1 dc in first st, 2 dc, ch 2
& 2 dc in next st, * 1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc, ch 2 & 2 dc, in next st
*. Rep bet * 5 times, join, ch 3.
3RD
ROW: Work 1 dc in each dc, 2 dc, ch 2
& 2 dc in ch 2 of prev row, join, ch 3.
4TH
ROW: 1 Dc in next 2 dc, 5 dc in next st,
drop yarn from hook, pick up first of 5 sts, & draw last loop thru this st
[this makes popcorn st], 1 dc in next 3 sts, popcorn in next st, 1 dc in next 3
sts, 3 dc, ch 2 & 2 dc in ch 2 of prev row *. Rep bet * 5 times.
Cont
to inc in this way, keep piece flat until it meas 10” across.
Make
2 pieces.
GUSSET:
Ch 14.
Work in dc back & forth for 16”.
Make
paper patt from crocheted pieces & lay aside to be used later.
FINISHING:
Join gusset to bag with sc, holding bag
toward you.
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper.
Attach
ornament to zipper pull tab.
Note: Cardboard
or lightweight plastic may be inserted between 2 layers of lining & bag to
give shape extra support.
Depending
upon type of handles purchased, you will have to make 4 small tabs to attach
handles to bag.
Sew
tabs to bag & attach handles.
