create, this elegant fan clutch will become a season-spanning favorite…you‘ll
want to recreate in many colors!
MATERIALS:

Corde, or, 3 gr Soutache, or 4 gr Ribbonette, or 6 oz Straw

Lining

BAG:
Ch
6, join, ch 3.
1ST
ROW: 24 Dc in ring, join, ch 3.
2ND
ROW: Work 2 dc in each dc of prev row,
join, ch 3.
3RD
ROW: Work * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in
next dc, rep bet * around row, join, ch 3.
4TH
ROW: Work * 1 dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in
next dc, rep bet * around row, join, ch 3.
5TH
ROW: Work * 1 dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in
next dc, rep bet * around row, join, ch 3.
PATTERN:
1ST
ROW: * Sk 1 st 2 dc ch 2, 2 dc in next
st sk 1 st, 1 dc in next st, rep bet * around row.
Make
sure there are an even number of shells.
2ND
ROW: * Work 2 dc ch 2, 2 dc in ch 2 of
row below 1 dc around front of post on dc of row below, rep bet * around row,
join, ch 3.
3RD
& 4TH ROWS: Same as row 2
with exception that there are 3 dc ch 2--3 dc in shell.
5TH
& 6TH ROWS: Same as row 2
with exception that there are 4 dc ch 2--4 dc in shell.
7TH
& 8TH ROWS: Same as row 2
with exception that there are 5 dc ch 2 --5 dc in ring.
GUSSETS:
Work
one shell either side of bag for 10 rows, join to bag with sc.
Make
paper patt for each crocheted piece & lay aside to be used later.
Cut
lining according to paper patts & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag. Sew in zipper.
Note:
Cardboard or lightweight plastic may be inserted
between bag & lining to give shape of bag extra support.
