Vintage Wedding Gown

A clever woman will
quickly knit this lovely calf-length gown…classic style & slimming lines
make this an exceptional garment…equally lovely in an ankle length…or a change
of color…think basic black perhaps…a beautiful gown for many special occasions!

are for small with changes for medium in brackets.

leaves underarm opening of 1 ½” for armhole.
Try
on dress.
Adjust
if necessary, then sew in place.
With
crochet hk, work row of sl st along sleeve edge & neckline, taking in where
necessary.
BUTTONHOLES:
With
crochet hk & single thread work along right front edge, sc evenly, working
ch 5 lps for each buttonhole, spacing them evenly apart.
BUTTONS: [MAKE 8]:
With
crochet hk & single thread, ch 4, sc in 1st st of ch, then work
2 sc in each ch around [8 sts].
Cont
around working 2 sc in each sc around for 2 rnds more.
Leaving
approx 2 yds of thread, cut thread, & pull thru last lp.
Wind
thread into small ball & stuff it into crocheted button.
Attach
another piece of thread, gather last rnd tog & sew to dress at approx 1/8”
from edge.
Wash
dress & when dry, steam dress firmly on right side.
Do
not press buttons.
