1956 Stole Wrap with Collar & Pocket #152
This wrap is delightfully quick and easy to create. With its charming collar, lapels & handy
pocket, you’ll want to make several in different colors to go with many of your
outfits.
MATERIALS:
Red Heart Crochet Wool, 3 ply -- 15 balls of periwinkle blue
#6 Plastic Crochet Hook,
or
Red Heart Crochet Wool, 3 ply -- 15 balls of periwinkle blue

#00 [double zero] Steel Crochet Hook
GAUGE:
1 shell [ 5 dc & 1 sc ] = 1 ¼”;
2 rows = 1”.
NOTE:
Work is done loosely.

STOLE:
Starting at narrow edge, ch 91 loosely.
1st row:
4
dc in 4th ch from hook, * sk 2 ch, sc in next ch, skip 2 ch, 5 dc in
next ch. Rep from * across until 15
shells are made, end with an sc. Ch 3,
turn.
2nd row:
4
dc in first sc, * sc in center dc of shell, 5 dc in next sc. Rep from * across, end with sc bet last dc
& turning chain. Ch 3, turn.
Rep
2nd row until piece meas 25”.
Next row: work in patt across to
within last 3 shells, end with an sc. Ch
15, turn.
Following row: 4 dc
in 4th ch from hook, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch, sk 2 ch, 5 dc in next
ch, sk next 2 ch, & work in patt across row. Ch 3, turn.
Work
in patt as before until piece meas 9” from the ch-15. Break off.
Make
another piece exactly like first piece & sew last rows of each piece tog
neatly, having lapel parts opposite each other.
POCKET:
Ch
43. Work as for first row of Stole [ 7
shells ].
Cont
in patt until piece is square. Break
off.
If
desired, bind edges with velvet ribbon & sew to right lower edge of
Stole.
Bind
all other edges in the same way.
